Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) has designed a special edition version of its all-new, eagerly-awaited 2008 C350 Sport Sedan to raise funds for Saks Fifth Avenue's KEY TO THE CURE, a women's cancer initiative developed in partnership with the Entertainment Industry Foundation's (EIF) Women's Cancer Research Fund. As a national sponsor of Saks Fifth Avenue's KEY TO THE CURE, MBUSA expects to contribute $1 million through the sale of 1,000 exclusive C-Class vehicles scheduled to arrive at Mercedes-Benz dealerships this month. Sales of this well-equipped, powerful and fun-to-drive sedan will benefit charitable programs dedicated to finding new detection methods, treatments and a cure for women's cancers nationwide. Over the past five consecutive years, MBUSA has supported Saks Fifth Avenue's KEY TO THE CURE and has raised over $5 million for women's cancer research.

The agile new 2008 C350 Sport Sedan combines the power of a 268- horsepower, 3.5 liter V-6 engine with the most desirable new options and technology available from Mercedes-Benz and the exclusive Sahara Beige and Black leather interior to create the Special Edition C350 for Saks Fifth Avenue's KEY TO THE CURE. This sophisticated sedan offers auto enthusiasts not only cutting-edge style, superior technical innovations and performance but the chance to help make a difference in the fight against cancer.

Multimedia Package (HDD Navigation, Harman Kardon sound system, DVD changer, Voice Control)
iPod Integration Kit
Each Special Edition C350 Sport Sedan also features the athletic new profile of the AMG lower bodywork and rear spoiler, sport sedan interior elements including gauges, sport steering wheel and pedals, as well as Black Birdseye Maple trim. The winning style of this new model combined with the exclusivity of the Special Edition for Saks Fifth Avenue's KEY TO THE CURE leather interior, creates a striking addition to the Mercedes-Benz C-Class line. Larger than past C-Class models, with a greater emphasis on driving dynamics, comfort and safety, the new 2008 C-Class also includes an impressive list of standard equipment, including: power sunroof, eight-way power front seats with lumbar support, two-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth connectivity, a central controller, and an LCD display screen. SIRIUS satellite radio, heated front seats, rain sensor, garage door opener, and power-folding and auto dimming mirrors are also included.

To further raise awareness of the campaign, Academy Award(R) winning actress Renee Zellweger has been named Entertainment Industry Foundation ambassador for Saks Fifth Avenue's 2007 KEY TO THE CURE and will show her support by wearing this year's KEY TO THE CURE t-shirt designed by Juicy Couture. Ms. Zellweger will appear in promotional materials and in a national public service announcement (PSA) to bring attention to this critical issue. The PSA will appear in major fashion and lifestyle magazines this fall.

Funds raised for Saks Fifth Avenue's KEY TO THE CURE will benefit more than 50 charitable programs nationwide dedicated to finding new detection methods, treatments and cures for women's cancers -- all through EIF's Women's Cancer Research Fund. During Saks Fifth Avenue's KEY TO THE CURE nationwide shopping weekend (Oct. 18-21, 2007), the Special Edition C350 Sport Sedan will be displayed at Saks Fifth Avenue stores. A percentage of Saks' shopping weekend sales will also be donated to national and local breast and women's reproductive cancer research centers.

Saks Fifth Avenue initiated its shopping weekend in 1999. Since then, the company has donated over $23 million to women's cancer research and treatment organizations throughout the United States. Organizations benefiting from these funds include: EIF's Women's Cancer Research Fund; The Breast Cancer Research Foundation; the Cleveland Clinic; Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute; the Nevada Cancer Institute; and many others.

It sounds sexy but it also seems like nothing more than just a loaded C350 Sport with some dealer markup "for charity". It would be a lot more appealing if it had something unique other than the interior color like some extra power (300hp?!?) or 19" wheels or trick 7G-Tronic programming or something.

I agree...wonder how much it will cost... I'd get one over my ordered one, I can still pull out but I have more options (pano roof parktronic etc) but hmm...I like the interior colors I was getting black on black before...

I'm sure the C350 Saks can or will have these options (Pano etc.). Last years Saks E350 was gorgeous and had pretty much every option if I'm not mistaken. You say you are ordering one with Parktronic? Are you in the US because that is not available here. I guess you could mean the dealer installed "Quik park" accessory, in which case that is installed at the dealer anyway so you can certainly have it added to this Saks car.

They actually don't increase the price of the car for the charity, the charity is coming from MBUSA not from the customer. They have done this for at least several years, usually featuring the latest model. Last year was the E350 with AMG package (by the way the only way to get an AMG package on a 2007 E350) with Sienna Black paint which was absolutely gorgeous. That car also had the two tone Black/Sahara interior. Before that was an R-Class, and before that was a CLK convertible I believe.

the Sienna Black paint proved such a hit that it is now part of the paint list on all 2008 E-Class models in the US.

True the exterior color is nothing special on the C350 Saks, but the interior will be very nice and not available on any other C-Class.

I would love an Obsidian Black C350 with this interior combo! I think that this is one of the few things that BMW has over Merc! They actually offer multiple interior colors for every car in the US. Why doesn't Merc do this again???

the Cogniac Brown interior is my favorite, unfortunately a color we can't get here.
What ever happened to the Designo editions? Is MBUSA still offering these appearance packages? They usually have a Designo Launch Edition for every newly redesigned model in the past.

They still have designo editions, they have never done one on the C-Class though. There were very nice designo Paint colors and special upholstry choices for the new S and CL in 2007.

Just to defend MBUSA a bit here...the two tone interiors (Black/Sahara and Black/Cognac) are only available on Avantgarde cars WITHOUT the AMG package in other countries. Since all US Sport Sedans (our equivalent of Avantgarde) come with the AMG package they only have the two color choices Black and Black/Grey available. Even in Europe, a C-Class with the AMG package has to have either Black or Black/Grey interiors.

I do think this is a mistake and they should offer more colors on all the models.

MBUSA has updated their website. If you look at the wheels on the car the picture isn't even accurate. It shows the standard C350 wheels, not the optional 5 double spoke AMGs as the write up indicates it should come with.

The car in the posted photo does not have Xenons. Plain as day.

That photo is not the SE. It is the photo for "Amenities" on page 34 of the US Brochure. The SE will have Xenons, but it may not have the Pano Roof.

My dealership has a SE C350. I didn't open it. It was still in the shipping wrappers.

The interior looked really nice. The leather seats add to the interior. Colors are rich looking.

It stickers at $45,000.

The Saks edition sadly doesn't have xenons. I saw one in person.

If they have memory seats and keyless go then it IS a Special Edition, otherwise just a souped up car.
