http://autos.yahoo.com/mercedes_benz...-reviews_user/

After reading these reviews, i have thought twice and might cancel my order... is it really worth the price point for cheap interior, plastic dash, and an overall noisy ride???

please somebody read all those yahoo reviews in the link above and give me some good counter points, other than the styling which I prefer, to get the c350 over any other car simlilar to it in its class....

thanks in advance for your help, I know you guys can probably give a ton of good reasons that will sway me to not calling the dealer tomorrow and inquiring about getting my deposit back....

Cancel the order and do not support Benz. Let them learn a lesson. They may do a good car and compete with BMW and Asian makers easily. Actually new C class isn't so bad, so let Mercedes fix it and then buy it.

Actually car isn't noisy (I tested C300), however interior is cheap.

Have you driven the car for yourself? Test it and make your own decision.

Catch this point !

good point from Yahoo! reader review that I catched before also ;

'' the radio screen (LCD screen) is hidden beneath ugly pop up in the top of the dashboard and looks out of place when open ''

and the other points are good also;

''I liked the C300 ride better because was quieter. The C350 was somewhat faster, and with 18 inch tires had quite a bit freeway noise.''

''the interior was disappointment. The dashboard looks and feels cheap, hard to believe this is a new design. Silver plastic backing of the instrument panel is hard to accept..''

''The air condition fan was noisy and the seats are vinyl, no decorative seams with overall budget appearance..''

Not bad review

sweet video check it out, i am sold...

all the bad reviews are just from stupid BMW fanboys who like their ugly cars that just go a little faster than the c class, but are way ugly

If you do not think the C 350 is a good car, why not buy something else and join that car's forum. I am very pleased with my C 350, then again I am not interested in the fastest, tricked out, hi-tech, ipod playing, 22" wheel rolling, mod to sh*t, boy racer, etc. Juvenile toy.

Instead of asking silly questions on this forum go to your dealer and drive one, for christs sake I can't believe your ordered a car without a test drive, that's just stupid.

Yahoo sucks...go drive the car and I guarantee you'll fall in love with it. Ive driven all the comparative models and the C350 definitely takes the cake overall. The only one's to out accelerate it are the 335i and G35s, but those have 300+hp, so what else would you expect? The new c-class out handles all the other models and has considerably less road noise. Do not second guess your decision, you will enjoy it.

2018 C43 4matic
I could understand people saying that the aluminum trim looks cheap but once you replace that with the Black Bird's Eye Maple - WOW! The rest of the interior is pretty sweet. My first reaction when I sat in one was -

I test drove a C300 4matic and it was such a sweet ride. I had the car to myself for 20 mins. I took it on the highway, through the side streets, I even took it in an empty parking lot and tried to "fish" it by stepping on the pedal and turning the steering wheel all the way. The baby stuck to the ground like glue. Then I realized the "ESP" was on so I shut that off and it still stuck.

The only disappointment was the accelaration from the get-go! It felt a little slow. But once the car was over 60km/hour the baby pulled like a champ on the highway. But then again, accelaration was very smooth and I was able to merge into the highway top-speed!

I just had so much fun, I test drove a BMW 328, G35 and the 2007 C-class and all were equally impressive. But l had the most fun in the 2008 C300. It just felt "right" for me. It's going to be a personal decision so don't listen to anyone, test drive the car, and then make up your mind!

One of the advantages of Merc / BMW stealerships is that they'll let you testdrive the cars without the dealer sitting inside the car with you. At least in my case, they throw me the keys and say "have fun." Take advantage of that, formulate your own opinions about the car, and then run with it.

I've already got a Sports Car, so choosing a C-Class as our 2nd car would be just right for us. It's not a performance demon, but it is definitely a just-right Luxury Sports Sedan.

2008 C350
Go drive the 350 and make up your own mind. Not everybody likes the aluminum in the 300 Sport, but I've seen no bad reviews of the Maple trim in the 350. The only other bad review that I've seen consistently is the lack of hp. So, the 350 has the additional 40 hp.

It still isn't as much as the new Infiniti's or BMW's, but it is not noticeable during normal driving. And, if you are one that wants to beat everybody off of the line at each light, then buy a real sports car.

I just reread the original post and noticed you had already ordered a 350. Did you drive it before ordering? If not, do it.

If you did drive it, are you happy with it? If not, don't buy it. If you liked it, you will really like the one you ordered with all of the options in it.

Pretty simple to me.

We now have 4500 miles and 6 weeks on our C300 Lux. I can only say this is the best car we've ever owned, and I've had over 50 cars since 1962.

Quiet, quick, excellent ride / handling combo, better room and trunk than a 3er - it has been exactly what I was hoping for, a great touring car. We still have about 800 miles left on our current trip, which will end next week - I'll be posting a final report then, but all I can say now is that you have to have a peculiar set of automotive values not to like this car.

Can't speak for people whose primary focus is track performance, or swoopy looks....I don't need or want either. You decide...

Indeed, getting a new car in every 6 months looks impressive. You even can't break them in. For Benz it is about 25k miles. I hope every new car was better previous ones.

What ?! You got to test drive it yourself ?! Man, I had a sales rep sitting with me for all of my Benz purchases. We only went on public road (which were pretty crowded) and for my last C-Class test drive I don't think I went more then 40 mph ! I need to go a test drive by you !

My mother, who lives in Germany, told me that when she buys her cars they give it to her for a day minimum. I guess they are right because how can you really test drive a car in 20 minutes with a stranger sitting in there with you talking.

I test drove multiple cars at 2 dealerships. One dealer had someone in the car with me...another threw me the keys and said go for it!!!

I ordered from the second dealer.

I find it interesting that a positive viewpoint on this board gets me questioned as an MB employee...I wish....

We used to have 2-4 cars at a time, one [or more] of which was always a Mercedes. When I started buying them [well before most people posting here were born, I gather], it was about safety, comfort, solidity, and long-term value. Now, the focus seems increasingly on performance stats - arguing over tenths of a second in acceleration, or hundredths of a G on the skidpad. My point is that all of that leaves me cold....what matters is how the car behaves with the trunk stuffed full of luggage, and the two of us aimed at the horizon for 500 miles or more a day.

On this trip, mostly through the Southwest, road surfaces have varied from great to awful, and have included some truly challenging twisty bits that really make things interesting. Our C300 Lux automatic has handled all of it without a whimper, and it is just the best thing since our W126 S-Class, period.

Altitudes have ranged from sea level to 8900 feet, temps from the 50's to 113F [mostly the latter - the AC is the best I've encountered in any European car], and speeds from 55-95 mph on all kinds of roads. We've been averaging 26-28 mpg through all of this, and the car has had zero issues so far in terms of problems.

Try it for yourself and decide. I've owned multiple BMWs and Audis [again, my first BMW was purchased before most people here were breathing], and seriously considered the E90 3er. I like the ride better in the new C, the bigger trunk, and don't much care for BMW's decision to go with run-flats exclusively on the E90.
I respect those whose opinions are different, but really wonder sometimes where this need to bash comes from...
