Thanks for the link, I signed up for Atlanta in late Sept. Hopefully my local dealer will have one by then and I can bypass this, but signed up nonetheless.

You should go anyway, if you haven't been to one of these, Mercedes usually does a really nice job, and it's a fun no sales pressure day.

Thank you so much for posting this, I haven't gotten an invitation yet. I went to the first even MB did back in 2001 called the Power Trip here in NJ. I've been to the C Spot Driving one and the M-Class Road Rally. I've been wondering when they were going to do another. I signed up for the one in NJ, which is only about 10 mins from my house!

Yeah I have. I went to the Love Mercedes thingy once and something else they had a couple of years ago when the CLS was coming out, both very nice. You're right I might just go anyway, though I know I'll be at the dealer the minute they put one out front!!

Yeah I think the Power Trip was the first MB event I'd ever been too also. GM has a good one too, the GM Autoshow in Motion I think its called, every car they make is there for the driving, too bad I couldn't get excited about any of their cars, at the time.

I went to the M-Class Road Rally back in '05 and wasn't impressed. I'll wait for a spin at the dealer and save a few hours of driving to the event.

I'm just going to take one home from the dealer when they have them in stock. Then I can spend the night with it, and figure out what I like or not.

I know that I'll end up with a C300 and a 6spd. Everything I am debating is interior option related.

Just drove a C280 (USA C300) elegance auto on Sunday at our local Merc dealers C-Class release... I've ordered the C280 Sport but the demo version was jammed inside their showroom. Very impressed with the handling Vs my W203 C180k SS, took some sharp corners at 30-40Mph and felt little to no roll and the steering is definatly way better. Brakes have a more immedate feel to them, very impressed overall.
Inside the glove box is a 3.5mm Aux-In socket and a 12Volt cig socket for IPod etc... The demo had command fitted and the screen was slightly distracting, not bad, but I folded it away while on the freeway... I'll be happy with Audio 20 and the smaller screen.
Standard features on our (NZ) cars include split folding rear seats and the six disc indash CD-Changer, Parking Sensors and quite a few nice extras that I was sure I'd have to pay for My car arrives on 3rd of August so I'll post up some photos and driving impressions of the Sport version that should be even better than the impressive Elegance.
