Foul odor from vents . . . .
On some occasions there is a foul smell from the A/C vents. Really bad . . Anyone have any idea on this? Occurs after my '08C350 has been sitting. Almost 2000 miles now. No jokes, please - I shower twice daily!!! And I'm totally regular. Anyone else notice this in their vehicle?

It tends to happen a lot in hot and humid climate. I dont know your location, so I cant say for sure. We have a procedure (at the dealer), that will rid your car of the smell. We spray a litre of fine mist of disinfectant into your evaporator, and it makes it smell very nice and clean. The dealer can take care of you, and its in warranty so why not let them handle it?

Usually it is water not being drained properly and sitting causing mildew and mold inside the lines and evaporator which gives you that smell. Try this, next time shut off the AC about a minute or so before arriving to your destination to let drain out the water while moving.
Usually spraying some disinfectant will kill the smell but might come back again.

Park the car and let the A/C runs at the hottest level for 7 minutes at max speed. If the bad smell still there repeat again !

I had that same problem with my car (2005 C240) when I first got it. It smelt like something was burining inside the engine when you turned the car on and it was coming up to temp. If you turned off the outside air you could not smell it in the car. I took it back to MB of Manhattan twice but they could not replicate the smell. They kept on saying everything was OK. The third time a tech told me that it was the rust proofing burning off the car and its normal since it was a brand new car. This lasted for an entire year until I got a different service rep. and when I took the car in for a checkup (I forgot if it was Service A or Service B) he told me that he smelt it also. It turns out there was a small leak and while the engine was not up to temp a drop of oil would get onto the hot part of the engine and burn off (I even saw some smoke one time and freaked out about it but that's a different story). This service rep put in a request to fix this by putting in a new seal. Since then my car is odor free.
