You'll get the aluminum trim if you are in the US

US C300 = Aluminum

In the US, the C300 brings aluminum and the C350 brings the Black Maple. I ordered the C300 and changed to the C350 for the power and the Maple!

I'm getting a black on black C300 4MATIC Sport with the black maple trim...it looks much richer than the aluminum. In Canada it's a no charge option.

300 Sport gets aluminum in the US. 300 Lux gets Burl Walnut.

Black birdseye maple is much nicer than the aluminum, but is only available in the 350 for the US.

I agree the Birds-Eye looks beautiful.... But I'm going to be thirty in '08 and don't think I'm quite "old-enough" for wood-esq trim in a car yet. However I might be the only one that like the aluminum. If I had a C350 I would have rather had a rich carbon fiber trim instead of a "wood" type look. IMO or at my age wood only belongs in low-rent domestic cars, Cadillac's and Buick's.

I've only got 3 years on you so it isn't an "old" preference!!!

i also chose the aluminum accent in a black interior for my order.. haven't seen the aluminum in person yet but in the pictures i like the contrast that the aluminum provides as opposed to all black. a bit more sportier looking too.

You should REALLY go look at the aluminum before you get it...just to be sure. Its been my opinion and others here that it looks very cheap. The wood looks years more luxurious

+1 here. Although some do like the aluminum as we have seen, most prefer the wood.

For me there was no question, I couldn't imagine buying an MB without at least some wood in the interior, especially now that lesser priced American cars are now including it in their "Limited" packages.

I love the wood interior, especially the Black Bird's Eye Maple and I am 21. I purchased my C240 rather than the C230 because I wanted wood trim and 4Matic.

MBTex how old are you?

PMB600 I agree with everything you and MBTex says and am glad to know there are level headed people around here. (I'm 21 as well)

PMB what 204 did you get/order?

I actually haven't ordered a W204 yet. I thought about it, and back in the spring the salesman I was working with offered me the first spot on the list, he was hoping he would be the first sales guy at that dealer to place a 204 order. But I am a senior in college and have only had my car for a little over a year so I think I will wait and see what my job situation is post graduation. I'm honestly not dying to replace my car, I've been very happy with it and I am not totally loving some of the omissions they made for the W204 in the US this model year. If I get a job in NYC, I probably will sell the C240 and not replace it as it really is kind of a waste to have a car there.

With that said, what I would want is a C350 4Matic Sport (I know, doesn't exist in the US) with all options, in which I would replace the front grille with a traditional Mercedes grille and hood star. I would get black interior, but I am really unsure as far as exterior. I like Black, Obsidian Black, Palladium Silver, Pewter, Steel Grey and Magma Red.

Your profile doesn't say, where do you live?

I live in Lexington Kentucky, I don't mention that because people tend to think of barefooted toothless people here, instead of horse racing yuppies...of which I'm the latter...haha, but anyway I was in your same boat when in college (I graduated at 20) but I didn't want a new car if it was only going to be dinged by every old camry in the lot.

Plus your car is still basically new.

i've actually seen the black bird's eye maple in person.. and it looks ok. for me, it doesn't pop out that much visually, very subtle...but again, that's just my own taste. for those who are into the wood accents, i can understand that it's a textural appeal. the aluminum is much more simple.. but i actually prefer that, a little less busy and more minimal.

and btw age doesn't really mean anything.. i'm older than the recent posters to this thread and yet i prefer non-wood

I have no problem with that...you should get the car you want. We all have our preferences and the maple trim isn't yours. It is a matter of taste.

Where do you live? Because I wasn't aware that the birdseye maple was an option in any of the 300 models in the US, just the 350.

If you have the choice, make sure to spend some time with each to make sure you are comfortable with it. After all you spend all of your time inside the car rather than outside, so make sure you like it.

No problem, I'm just always curious where everyone is from.

Yeah my car really is new and I keep it in immaculate condition of course. The odometer just ticked 30,000 miles today on the way to school, I bought it with 11,000. I am also the guy who goes out of his way to find just the right parking place at school so that my car is relatively safe.

I never thought I would love 8:30 AM classes, and was able to avoid them until now, but it lets me get my favorite parking space by the elevator that is separted from the other cars with a column. This has become my "reserved" space.

Once in a while a Black BMW 335i steals it

Are you new to Mercedes-Benz ownership? If so I will offer this piece of advice: dealership employees rarely know anything. I also live in NJ, what dealership did you go to that said this?

Trust us, in the US Wood is not an option in the C300 Sport Sedan.
