By law (and this is from my dealer), they are required to give you your deposit back as long as you did not take possession of the car (drove it home).
The same thing applies even if you bought the car and went through all the paperwork (and shook the dealer's hand a million times). As long as you did not take possession of the car (drove it out of the lot after the sale), you can get your money back.

That's what my sales person told me when I was putting down my deposit. Even if the car is already in the lot, and you don't feel like the color combo, rims, etc. You can ask your money back, all of them.

Initial deposit is C$1,000 and another C$1,500 the moment the dealer confirms the production schedule.
The second part is something new as this was never the case before.

I would hope that would be the case.. but on the yellow order form that I have to sign for, they stamped non refundable deposit. So I don't know if I could get my money back if I changed my mind.

Most quality dealers will refund your deposit if you don't buy whether they are required to or not. Especially on the W204 since it is a hot commodity right now. My dealer had an ordered 350 with P2 arrive on the lot last Wednesday, the guy that ordered it back out of the deal the day before. I went back yesterday and the car was already sold.
