If you already have a high performance coupe and after a second car, I would definitely go for the C350 because:

- No run-flat tyres
- Newer model, more impressive interior
- COMAND is much easier to use than iDrive
- More comfortable ride
- Quieter

i think most people on here are going to say 350. for what you are looking for (a daily commuter) 350 does make alot of sense. i still think that performance wise it lacks a little based on the numbers that i have seen. but hands down the 350 wins in the looks department.

C350 all the way! If it were the 335i coupe, that would be another story

think most people on here are going to say 350.
Is normal because we own a C350

I hate the run flat tires!!!!
I hated the run flats on my 545i and I replaced then with Michelin Pilot Sport

A 335i is much better in my opinion.
^+1 I agree

i hated the back seats of the e92. i was sitting in the back of my cousin's car for 5-6 hours [we were going to LA], and let me say, that night i couldn't sleep because my back was HURT!

I can't help with your decision but I just wanted to say how surprised I was to see the outpouring of objective opinions/responses in here. That is NOT common in an enthusiast forum! Almost every post showed a good deal of objectivity and fairness.

I commend you all!

X3 and 2012 C coming soon
My friend has a 335i coupe. If you want ***** out speed, get the BMW. Dinan also has a chip (covered by warranty) available that bumps hp to 390. The shifts in manual mode (he also has paddle shifters) are a lot faster in the BMW.

Things I don't like about his BMW are:

1. Run flats. With the sport package, the ride feels like the suspension is an aftermarket setup.

2. Poor seating position. I find myself readjusting every few minutes and the car feels cramped. I tested a sedan and it felt a little cramped as well. It may not be, but it's how I perceived it. The C Class feels very intuitive to me.

3. I don't like the looks of the sedan or coupe.

Has BMW rectified this problem on the 335i?
It's the fuel pump failure, not overheating and they have fixed the problem already.

That's because it's a coupe (2+2).

i knew that, but sleeping in other makes of coupes [w203/e46/integra/rsx] were plenty more comfortable. i been in the rear of many long trips from Sac to LA, and the e92 was the first car that really gave such pains. haha.

Coming from an A4 (trade in for W204 C350) and currently also have E90 330i. Here is my (personal) experience with these 3 cars. They are all equipped with sport package,

Performance
330i>C350>A4

Handling
330i>A4>C350

Seat Comfort
330i>C350>A4

Stye
Hard to say which one is the best because I love them all but what I dislike are
A4 - Front Grill
330i - Taillights
C350 - Waist Line & Taillights

Again, this is my personal opinions on these cars, so please do not flame me on this.

Regarding why you see more E90 on the road than W204 is because the E90 has been out for 2.5 years now and the W204 has just came out! 2 years from now you will see W204 everywhere just like W203 as of now.

Those extra 10K on my bank made my mine.
The MBUSA website lists MSRP on a fully loaded C350 at $47,310 includes additional paint option and no accessories.

I drive an E90 (not a 335!) and love it, but the W204 is just too tempting, that's why I'm switching to the new C class! It's great when there is such great choice of great German cars!

My 2c worth...

Let me preface this by saying that this is a MB forum, so the slant in favour of the C350 is to be expected.

I can only talk from my personal experience:
I had a BMW325i Coupe 2007 last year when I was in South Africa. Loved it. Gorgeous car. Drove well. Comfortable. I have now moved to Australia, and the price differences and the fact that I have a family has made me settle for a C220 CDI W204. It is a good car that drives well, but is inferior to the BMW in many ways.

I am not sure if this is a fair comparison given the different engines, but from a ride and comfort point of view:
MB 220 CDI:
1. Seats 5 but is exceptionally cramped and horrible for a tall person.
2. Seats are uncomfortable.
3. Dashboard is great. COMAND is lovely, but SATNAV sucks.
4. Harmon Kardon system is superb.
5. Well styled, but a little conservative.
BMW 325i Coupe:
1. Petrol power.
2. Slick gear shifting on the automatic.
3. SATNAV is better, but I did not have a DVD player of premium audio.
4. Sports seats, with memory, and all the electric adjustments are superb. They are very comfortable.
5. Beautifully styled.
6. Dashboard is plain and not as nice looking as MB, but much better build and material quality.

If I had to choose again, with equivalent engines, and money was not a hinderance, I would take the BMW - sheer driving pleasure.

Hi I take it you are comparing the BMW Sport seats to the standard W204 seats.
I find the W204 Sport seats as per European spec comfortable, I spent 9 hrs in it from Stuttgart to London. Try it out and let us know how you find it.

Yes, I am. The 325I Coupe (and 335i) come standard with the sports seats. Full electric control is an option on the 325i.

The W204 C220 CDI comes with standard seats, partially electric. Not sure about the C350.

I'd probably choose the 350 cause I love Mercedes-Benz.

However, if I won a 335i I sure wouldn't return it! That car is something else.

No question - the 335. The only two things I prefer on the W204 are the exterior styling and that it's a MB. The 335 has far more all around power, is faster, handles better, has what I feel is a better quality interior (though I'm also not all that crazy about the 3 series interior). To me, the 335 is just a better car, though it can get a little more pricey (though not $10k more). I actually considered the 335 and 535 as options compared to the E350 I just bought. I couldn't consider the C because of the lack of options and the interior as well as wanting 4Matic and the 300 being (to me) significantly underpowered. In the BMW I was looking at the 335xi and 535xi.
