335i Sedan or C350?
Can i get your opinions on a 335i Sedan vs. a C350?
In my opinion:
335i:
Pros:
More fun to drive
More power
Free Maintenance
Cons:
Not as good looking inside & out (IMO)
Engine overheat concerns
$5K more when comparably equipped
2008 C350 is the opposite.

I think the E90 is ugly, that reason is enough for me to get the C350. Unlesss...
1) You must have a manual transmission (335i)
2) You think the E90 doesnt look so bad
Now if we're talking about the E92...hmmm (Coupe that is)
In the end it's your choice. Not liking the 335i Coupe?

One thing to think about with the manual vs auto debate. I just gave up an e90 with manual trans ... that gearbox and clutch suck. It's my second BMW manual, and the clutch take up was horrible and the syncros on 2nd and 3rd are extremely weak. It was always gnashing and grinding it's way into gear, even on very slow deliberate shifts.
Part of the reason I got tired of having the e90.
Cons of 335i:
Fun to drive for awhile, not that fun to own on a day to day basis.
Already looking bland.
Design of dash means that your (well, mine anyway) knees are extremely close to be able to get full extension on the clutch.
Dealer network (in my area) service department completely awful to deal with.
Pros of 335i:
Cheaper to lease regardless of difference in price.
Overheating not a real concern anymore.
Memory seats.

I'd like to add one more "con" to the above lists for the 335i:
Run Flat Tires
They are noisy, expensive and harsher riding than a typical tire. Being one who had a wheel failure at 85mph in my BMW Z4 (wheel broke in two - vertically) in the middle of nowhere, I will never own another car that has no spare tire.

2008 E350 4matic
Before I decided to get the E350 I drive now, I drove both the BMW and the C350. I must say the power in the BMW was nice, but the overall looks and style of the C350 are outstanding! The interior look of the C350 is 100 times better looking than the BMW, by far. To me and this is my own opinion, the BMW 3 series does not carry the prestige that the Mercedes has. I believe this is because I see more 3 series on the road and it made me feel everyone has one and I want something different.
So with that said, why did I buy the E350 ----- 4matic!

2008 C350
Not that I'd expect much different opinions in the MB forum, but 350 for me as well for many reasons already stated...too many BMW's on the road, better looking, and "Because They Promised Me a Mercedes Benz"

350, but not c300
c350>335i, but most definately 335ix>c3004matic, if you need awd.
I agree the new bimmer misses the mark on styling, or at least the sedan does. The coupe is a bit better. But you can't argue with a twin turbo v6. May be high strung, but so what. Relaxation is for when you die.
Now here's another thought since you mention you have a 911 and enjoy driving it. Don't get either the c350 or 335i, and trade in the 911 for the new GT-R (dumb name, its not even a Skyline). Now that's worth having, unless you either need the pedigree of a Porsche or your 911 is a turbo variant. Otherwise, you're gonna have yer hat handed to you, kinda like when all the corvette and porsche drivers discovered what an STi or Evo was off the line and had to learn only to take them when already at speed (in which case the tater diggers can't race much above 50mph).
just my $.02

Ive driven both and there's no way to overcome the 40hp difference between the two cars. That being said, which is more important to you? I think the redesign of the C-class went far beyond anyone's expectations and IMO looks a lot better than the 3-series. Also, I firmly believe the new suspension on the C-class is much more comfortable and just as "sporty". Plus, like you said above, it's also $5k less when similarly equipped. Good luck with your decision, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Ordered C350 Blk/Blk, P2, Illuminated Sills and 18" rims.
I'm currently deciding rather to get the 335i or C350.
As for the design/style I like the front of C350 but the rear bumper does look a little ugly. I like the overall design of the 335i but I see too much everyday. That sets me back.
Design/style: Tie but I perfer if 335i if came out at the same time.
Fun to drive: Tie
Dealership: Tie all *****
Coolness: C350 since there aren't too much out there.
Price: C350
Power: 335i
Maintenance service: 335i
I choose C350 just because there aren't too much out there.

C350, because 1st it is Mercedes and the second it is Mercedes. Who can select that ugly pretensions BMW? Did I tell that C350 is the most reliable Mercedes ever. BMW has tons of problems and recalls.

Is the 335i still overheating? I hear that the 335i isn't good at dealing with city traffic. If you live in New York or Los Angeles (places with terrible traffic), you might not survive in a 335i.
Has BMW rectified this problem on the 335i?

Seriously, think about where you're asking this question. It's completely biased. You might as well ask this question in a BMW and Audi forum as well. The BMW forum will be completely biased, but the Audi forum should be more interesting.
Looks are subjective, and that's where most people are ******* the 335i in this post. I myself drive a 335i coupe, and it's identical to the sedan in everything barring the looks. It's a blast everyday, and it's NOT uncomfortable in the slightest if you opt for the sport package. It has eight-way adjustable seats with adjustable lumbar and bolsters. Very easy to be comfortable. Very easy to mod too. Buy a PROcede chip (just $1300) and you're looking at a performance gain of about 100bhp and 120lb-ft. A bargain? I think so.
Oh and fwiw, the coupe is extremely liveable. I've had people six feet tall sit in the back with ZERO complaints. In fact, they were all amazed at how comfortable the ride was.

Also, the overheating issues (related to the high performance fuel pump - HPFP) are a thing of the past. Those problems were solved for all vehicles built on and after March of '07. They also offer a factory retrofit if your vehicle happens to be one of the problematic ones.

Porsche, Mercedes & MINI
I have done a review of both, but not with 335i but 325i... I say the 335i is much faster, better handling, but the C350 is not sedated, much improved and tremendous ourside lines...

C350 4MATIC Premium Package Obsidian Black
great question
i was faced with this very same dilema back in January. i was also considering an a4 3.2 quattro. for me it came down to looks. i know that the 335 is faster and the a4 probably handles better, but at my age i dont really rip around corners doing 80km/h so it all came down to looks. i think that all of them are great vehicles. you just need to decide which one looks and feels the best. this is all subjective since one mans trash is another mans treasure. if you are basing your choice solely on performance numbers than the 350 is probably not your car. this is coming from a average motor enthusiast. for me 95% of my descsions are based on looks
