I was told by a dealer that the W204 w/ MM package has real trime traffic... is this true?

Have not seen that. If anything it might be a tel-aid thing like the new mapping feature "search and send" that interfaces with the MM Package

Yes it does. When I took a test drive I could also see the real time traffic jams in the MAP. But its in Europe, I do not know if that will be same in US as well.

Even if it does have it, it all depends if there is actually service in that area. As hebsan said, Hawaii is one of the unlucky states/areas where XM won't work nor will my Acura Nav-Traffic work either.

Navi does not have live traffic standard. It may be possible with teleaid but not sure. Its the only thing missing in an otherwise great navigation system

can you add telaid from a dealer or is factory installed only???

real time traffic would be the ONLY reason I could justify teleaid

As far as I know, Teleaid is only a factory installed option.

Tele Aid Security and Communications System

Tele Aid uses GPS satellites plus a cellular link to offer emergency aid (SOS button), information (i-button), or Roadside Assistance (Wrench button).1 Automatic Collision Notification engages the SOS function when an air bag or Emergency Tensioning Device (ETD) deploys. Automatic Anti-Theft Alarm Notification alerts the Tele Aid Response Center to contact you if the antitheft alarm is set off.1 Tele Aid also includes Stolen Vehicle Recovery and Remote Door Unlock service.2

As a Tele Aid customer, you have your choice of two service packages based upon what matters most to you: added security or a sense of luxury. Regardless of your priorities, Tele Aid can cater to your unique lifestyle.

The Tele Aid Security & Care Package includes emergency services, connection to Roadside Assistance, Stolen Vehicle Recovery, Remote Door Unlock, Anti-Theft Alarm Notification,3 and Dealer Connect. Or choose the Tele Aid Luxury & Convenience Package and, in addition to great safety and security features found in the Security & Care Package, you'll receive access to Route Assistance, traffic information, as well as Concierge service. Both packages include access to services for the duration of your subscription, with no per-minute access charges.

1. For new Tele Aid Security & Care subscribers, the first year of Tele Aid service is provided at no additional cost with subscription and includes access to services with no per-minute access charges.

For new Tele Aid Luxury & Convenience subscribers, the first year of Tele Aid service can be upgraded at a discounted rate and includes access to Route Assistance, Traffic Information, and the Personal and Online Concierge services. Unlimited access to services with no per-minute access charges is also included. Tele Aid Security & Care and Tele Aid Luxury & Convenience Packages are only available for Model Year 2005 and newer vehicles equipped with Tele Aid. Availability of services varies by package. Services, packages and prices may vary with vehicle model and year.
For all packages, subscriptions are required for service to be active. Service operates only where cellular and Global Positioning System coverage is available and functioning properly. Services may only be activated by the subscriber and/or additional driver via a password.

2. Owner must authorize vehicle recovery and provide a password with a valid stolen vehicle police report number. A password is required to activate Remote Door Unlock.

3. Anti-Theft Alarm Notification is an opt-in feature provided at no additional cost. If you choose to receive this service, you will be contacted every time your vehicle's alarm is activated for longer than 20 seconds.

I am amazed how few people subscribe to TeleAide. The cost, after the initial free one year service is very expensive. Most people I know have it disconnected. One would think that MB would be interested to have as many clients connected as possible. If they would cut the rate by 50% triple the amount of clients would subscribe.

Same goes for the Satellite Radio. You want to tell me that the employee from MB who made the deal with Sirius Radio could not get even a free 2-3 months trial period so we can hear the radio?

Years ago we had to pay for a rear view mirror on the right hand side, then we had to pay for a CD player for years and now it's the TeleAide and the Satellite Radio. How cheap can you get? Mercedes-Benz cheap that is.!!!!

for europe its the same as well . free service. I have to check this today once I pick up my car in few hours . In the test drives i took in all cars (3 cars different dealers ) i saw this real time traffic. I will update you guys today. But that would only be for holland mob!

I am pretty sure its free service here due to TOMTOM being so popular here with all the magic things and setting new market standards. I can be wrong as i m never tested this or have knowledge about it. I used to work for tomtom for only 2 months.
