Thinking about buying C200 kompressor AMG "Avantgarde"
omg, goodluck for u guys with c350...
I just had a quick look at bmw's new twin turbo 335i coupes and sedans. I only started looking it up when i saw one of the W203 members decided to buy one.
THAT CAR is wicked with a CHIP. PROcede to be exact, i couldnt believe it, all this talk about chipping, and i was like nah, it wont be that fast. BUT was i wrong. AND i still can't believe it. I love power with a refined look. now i know the bmw's interior is not as good looking as the c class but hot damn, this PROcede by Vishnu tuning is just great. i would gladly pay that much for that kind of power.
I doubt you'll be able to see that type of gains with the v6 in the C350s. I'm so sad guys......Im thinking about coughing up more money now for the beemer. and getting that chip.
4.14 seconds 0-60 mph and 12 something 1/4 mile. and i thought the C 200 K was decent for a 4 banger with 8.8 quarter mile. I thought about modifying the c200k but MAYBE i shouldnt waste my money.
For those that want to see, heres a couple:

Enjoy

Btw, a procede chipped 335i (4.14 sec.)would be faster than:
Based on 0-60 time.
Lexus IS-F - 4.6 sec
BMW M5/M6 - 4.5 sec
BMW M3 - 4.8 sec
BMW Z4M - 4.9 sec
Audi R8 - 4.6 sec
Cadillac XLR-V - 4.6 sec
Porsche 911 Carrera - 4.8 sec
Porsche 911 Carrera S - 4.6 sec
Porsche 911 Carrera 4S - 4.6 sec
Mercedes CL600/S600 - 4.5 sec
Mercedes SL600 - 4.4 sec
AMG E63 - 4.3 sec
AMG S63 - 4.5 sec
AMG S65 - 4.2 sec
AMG SL65 - 4.2 sec
Neck to neck with Porsche 911 GT3 - 4.1 sec
now i know you dont measure a cars performance on just the 0-60 time but i just wanted to show you guys of what its capable of. And i also know with a better driver the car can actually hit lower 0-60 time. thanks for looking.

and your point is?? . People don't buy car just for the performance only, don't get me wrong, i'd love to be able to afford 335i and chip it to the max, however have you consider about reliability issue in the long term??

CLK63 Black Series
I have procede'd 335i and i can tell you for sure that the 4.1 0 to 60 is very exaggerated. A very good driver can do 0 to 60 in 4.5 at best. The car stock is just insanely sick as is at 0 to 60 in 4.9 secs.

i don't understand the need for faster speeds when there's a speed limit wherever you go.. that just does not make sense to me.
why get something that you will never use? i would rather have a car that looks nice than one that may be faster, but u won't get to use that power anyways.

Thinking about buying C200 kompressor AMG "Avantgarde"
Ok, look here people. I love mercedes and i always have since the day i drove an S500. But cmon, mercedes were supposed to build a car to compete against the 3 series, thats the whole idea.....the C180K, C200K, C280, C300 beats all of the 3 series line except when it comes to the C350 against the 335i. Now Im not comparing the c63 vs m3 here, theyre both in its own category but like i said before, im just sad that merc couldnt add a little more oomph, just a little more is all i ask.
When its comes to interior and exterior, Mercedes is definitely a winner. But not engine performance. I do agree that both cars handle extremely well given that the manufacturers built these cars for sporty (spirited) kind of driving.
Now for all you blokes, why would u want to buy a car that looks fast but cant move? pls gimme a break, its like the celica ADs back in the days....Celica...."Looks fast" well thats exactly right looks fast but it isn't.
Another thing about the 60mph speed limit and thats it, lol. What kind of mental problems are you suffering from people. Every damn country has speed limits. Did that stop anyone from modifying their cars, please, everybody modifies their car for speed or looks, sometimes both. If the speed limit is the cause for you not to buy a sports car or sporty sedan like the one you probably have, then might as well buy a geo metro. Well then, u might say, it has no CLASS. define then what is class?.....the $kaching$ amount of XXXX dollars you spent on a luxury/sporty sedan because of its quality and reliability. well then, thats great but if i would spend that much dough, id expect a little bit more, atleast on the performance side.

I was looking into an Audi A4 with the turbo 2.0 but found out that you can't just simply chip something and go about your business. You have to beef up everything else or your looking at repairs in your near future. So what looks like a simple 1-2 hundred dollar chip mod ends up costing much more to do it right and make it realiable. Turbos..the art of blown diverter valves and pcv valves. Don't get me wrong, if done right turbo cars are amazing, just don't try and do it yourself without doing the research first, guess you can say that about anything though.

I prefer the smooth ride, the nice handling and most of all the Mercedes look. You want performance? Buy a Mclaren F1, Ferrari 360 Modena, Skyline GTR cause just like EXC55 said you can tune a honda or anything for that matter to go fast.

i agree bimmer is nice
and I'd love to have one, but it won't fit in my garage! yeah, limited to the merc, infiniti g35x or subie spec.b for 4 door awd sedans (they're all under 70" wide in the body).
And I agree Mercedes has a major issue on this. but, as you read already, there's enough punters willing to tell themselves its not about speed, its about luxury. Of course, the c-class ain't that luxurious, so that belief is specious. But, I'll add that I'm likely to get the merc, and even over the Infiniti G35x. Why? Because I have no pretenses that I'm buying it to be pretentious! Yeah, go figure. Cuz you can't argue for the merc on speed. (v6 making 228 hp with a 3700lb weight? my moms honda civic makes almost as much speedwhen weight is factored, and while the c350 makes more power, it ain't enough either -but better yes) And you can't argue for it on luxury (leather, no. memory seats, no. keyless go, no. real time traffic, no. 9.3 gb harddrive, nope only 4, and so on). And you can't argue for it on value/price (near $40K for that?). So, what can you argue for it on? the name and the package. But, those do mean something. And I gotta say the car felt better than the infiniti, more solid and composed. Plus, you don't get points for driving an infiniti, cuz near me they're a dime a dozen (Then again, c-classes are a dime a half dozen, but I digress). Still, its a near lux car, with near performance speed, and near reasonable price, and ain't life full of compromises.
Oh well, the first time I drive it and get my clock cleaned by a new accord or camry with the v6 making more power than me, with real leather and better features, for 1/3 less, I can console myself that I'm driving a three-pointed car that looks nice. Damn nice. Cuz if you don't actually have it, you can at least look like you have it.!

^ I like you comment 430752, That is so true. I believe the mercedes' quality has gone up alot and since the 90s, i am in no way saying that "hey, mercs suck and beemers are the way to go". I am merely describing the huge potential on those 335 engines. They even just broke 400 rwhp by Vishnu Tuning on a stock engine.
btw, we have two mercedes' in our family, an 07 E200K and a 08 C200K. Im telling you, quality of the interior on the new c class is fantastic and absolutely without a doubt GORGEOUS. But im still thinking about the 335i and whether i can withstand that terrible interior. Also, back home, Would u believe it? its $43,000 for our new c class (not even the v6 272hp), and a WHOPPING $65,000 for the 335i. not as bad as some other country with outstanding taxes.

+1. The 4.1 sec is record from a G-tech meter and I never trust G-tech, I bet if that BWM 335i go to drag race track will run about 4.5 sec at 0 to 60 like you said !!

08' BMW E92 Coupe
I am absolutely in love with the 335i coupe. Not only is the performance and handling amazing, but 2 doors is just sexy! If you don't need 4 doors, I think the 335 coupe is a no-brainer. 335 sedan, ehhh. Not really feeling it. Still on the fence about whether to go new c class or 335 coupe. 5 more months on the lease. We'll see what happens. I'd even take the 328 coupe just b/c it looks soooo good. Guy up the block has a black 328i hardtop vert with sport package and I drool every time I drive past it.

2014 Ghibli S Q4 & 2008 C350
I did seriously considered the 335xi but just couldn't get past the dull boring interior and the awful iDrive. I do like the exterior looks but 3 series are so common place. Since I have two young kids, I also couldn't justify $6000 more for the extra speed. I went with the C350 and in a couple years I might try and lease a roadster for some real fun in the summer months.

Huh?
You live in the twin cities, Minnesota, and you bought a c350 rwd to arrive in January with two kids in rear seat? You, sir, a bolder man than I!
I grew up in Chicago, so know what a winter is about. And moved to Jersey for college, where winter is still serious, but mild compared to the Great Lakes region. And even then I'm not buying a c350, even as bloated and unpowered the c3004matic is. Well, I'm sure a good set of Hakka's does wonders in the snow, but still.....
Good luck!

"Oh man, I'm at a stoplight here at Hollywood, let me punch it and test 0-60"
"Oh gees, I'm at this next stoplight at Sunset Blvd., let me punch it again to test 0-60"
"Whoa, I'm next to this Dodge Neon (or Ford Exploder, or Hyundai Tiburon, or whatever...).. Let me punch it when the light turns green so I can show 'em what my 0-60 is"
"Ok, I'm approaching another stoplight, maybe I'll punch it again, over and over, every stoplight and every opportunity I get, just to make the most of my 4.9 sec 0-60 able car"
Unfortunately, not all of us thinks this way.
I personally, want to enjoy Driving... and Living (if u know what i mean).

“OMG Good luck 350 owners”?!!!!
What is wrong with the people in this forum!!
It seems that every thread I read is intended to make me feel stupid about buying the new c350… “no memory seats” “no rear view camera” “no tilting mirrors” no this and that… and their particular favorite: The BMW 335i; everyone should buy one!!
Don’t get me wrong. I’m the first one to discuss and complain when I think MB screwed up with something, but I make sure I do it in an informative and not an offensive way.
It’s true there are some things that could make the new C a better car, and that the 335i is faster. Does this make the purchase of a C350 or C300 a bad purchase? Absolutely not! And I’m not even going to get into the details of why the C class is an excellent purchase.
So why are we (C owners, which apparently are a minority in this forum) letting other people influence and make us feel naive for purchasing our C?
I rely on forums to receive and share information and opinions regarding the subject: Dealer issues, tune ups, tips and tricks, good and bad experiences, etc. And there are a handful of people here that do a terrific job with that, but then there are the others whose intentions are only to annoy whoever bought a w204.
I’m not saying that the 335i numbers (or any other car in the same class) are not interesting; but when the threat title is “OMG Good luck 350 owners” you know the intention is not to be informative but to be offensive.
