AMG exhaust retrofitted! Quad Tips Baby!!

Just got the AMG exhaust retrofitted to my C30S. Using the muffler from SL55. Muffler sit just perfect and quad tips as well. If I'm not mistaken, E55 or CL55 muffler will also fit (retrofitted of course). Lower bumper was cut to accomodate AMG quad tips. Sounds...great!! Not too loud but deep. So happpyyyy...

will post picture in couple days.

Did you cut the mufflers only and weld them to your stock ones?

4 things need to be done. First, retrofitting the AMG exhaust pipe (after the muffler) to fit the original pipe (smaller). So we cut the original and adapt the bigger pipe to smaller pipe (after the muffler). Second, cut the original AMG tips (right after the muffler), as that need to be shortened and reposition to fit the bumper cut out. Third, weld the brackets. Fourth, a satisfied owner!

Thanks for posting the pics!!

Looks nice! May I ask what your total cost on this mod was? Can you tell that rear bumper was cut? Is the (plastic?) bumper solid colored throughout?

I think it looks awesome, I'm probably not going to be brave enough to cut the valance and do all the trimming and so forth, but I certainly appreciate your efforts.

Sorry but modding a car like a "C" class seems mindless especially esthetically. WTFF? I think MB did a good job on the Sports models.

But...when assuming most "C" class owners are upgraded "Ricers" I can understand the pattern.

"Aesthetically"

If you're going to come off like a jerk, at least spell your accusations correctly.

I think it looks very good, but see if you can't get a custom diffusor to look like the C63s?? That'd be awesome.

What's so wrong with modding a C when it's done well, tasteful, clean and looking like it came from the factory?
It's commonly called OEM+ and you see it most often on German cars as its owners tend to have more taste and attention to detail.

It's definately not rice. Rice would be buzzy coffee can exhausts, rediculous huge wing spoilers, mismatched body parts, cheap Pep Boys accessories, unecessary and needless badges and decals, etc.

Kudos on your efforts on the exhaust! It has never been done before and looks really nice. I would like to see closeup shots on how the plastic valance was cut. Did you make a cutting template and did you do any fine sanding to round off the cut edges?
I would totally scared to cut the valance perfectly myself.

zippy, mod-ing a car is a hobby. Everything that you purchased right out of the box is "right of the box". If everyone in this world is like you, then I'll be sorry for those aftermarket manufacturers. It goes the same with clothing, watches, implants, HBA products, hair gels, etc etc and the list goes on. But you have an opinion, so be it!

As for cutting the rear valance, we didn't make any template. We measured the quad tips (to be at 10 inches), which is almost perfect fit to the bracket where the rear valance is bolted (see underneath your valance, and you could see on each side there is a bracket to the rear bumper). Sanding was done to smooth the cut edges (btw, we only did the cut out on the each side closer to the center of the car - we left the outer side un-touched!).

See if you guys can find a stock AMG exhaust for other models. That's what I did! Enjoy!

curious where u purchased the AMG mufflers from?? local dealer or ordered online??

BTW outstanding mod, i see some things cant be waited on by consumers for aftermarket companies to produce. which i really dont understand why there hasnt been some production mods for this model YET????

Hi Raydens, any chance of taking pictures from underneath the car to show how the connection was made.

A flawless mod, I am sure MB will approve.

awesome mod..... been wanting to do the same... but I keep asking my friends about those extra AMG exhausts laying around their backyards.... and all they offer are worn out Volvo 240 rear exhausts!
