C350: why no macadamia interior ?
When will MBUSA learn that some of us actually LIKE tan interiors.
We were at the dealership picking up her new GL and my wife decide to test drive a new C class. She thinks the E is too frumpy, the S is too large, and she's already had a CLS.
She was ready to drive a C350 home. Then they explained that the interiors are only black or grey in the C350 and C300 Sport.
That killed the sale! She's now leaning toward a 335i convertible.

You might be able to find a Sacks Fifth Avenue model with the two tone cream/black interior, but thats probably unlikely, those went fast. As for the cashmere/savannah color, MB doesn't like to use that color combo in "sport" models, the C350 is considered a sport model because there is no luxury version of that. Typically the AMG cars will have black or grey as well, but I see on the build your own that cashmere/savannah is available.

Thanks, Chris, the suggestions are appreciated, and we looked at that.
Our dealer say that you can now order a Saks C series... it is no longer a limited production window.
Unfortunately, the Saks interior appears to be an all-black interior with sand seats and door panel inserts, thats all.
I'll look again at the AMG version, thanks, but I havent seen a "build your own" for the C63 on the MBUSA site yet..

I understand that MB wants to have control over their brand, but I can't help but think that it hurts them in the long run. I could/would of spent more $$$ on features that aren't available on US models, or leather if I could get it in a color I liked. And if you're buying used, they all kind of look the same because of the lack of choices buyers are given. Just my 2c.

Thanks, but with a black dash and black headliner, I feel sitting in the C is like looking out the mouth of a cave. We have a 7 and an 8 year old... most of what they spill I've been able to clean up... All of our "modern" cars have beige/tan interiors except the MINI, and at least it has an off-white headliner to offset the blue and black leather.

That's what I love about the sahara interior in the Saks edition car. It's a great contrast. BMW does the same thing with their red and saddle interiors.
The 335 convertible is a completely different car than a C350 sedan, but I would take the 335 simply because I want a convertible.

By using black for ALL dashboards, carpets panels and headliners, and ONLY varying the seat and door insert colors, it looks as if they couldnt afford to do nice "full color" interiors. MB does the same with the SLK and so does BMW with the Z4M.
The funny thing is, the "economy" car companies (Toyota, Honda, et al) can do a nice beige/tan interior without all the black. Why wont the "premium" car makers?

I agree on the color choices. I like tan/khaki a lot. And I understand that some think its not "sporty", but MB needs to be reminded that ferrari's often come red with rich tan interior. Maybe the ferrari isn't sporty? Never had thought about that, could be MB is onto something?
And the silver aluminum. Oy veh, the silver trim. At least infiniti tries to guss it up by giving it a light pattern, they call it wasahi, after rice paper. Dumb name, but it actually looks nice (for being plain silver aluminum).
Oh well, at least the black interior goes with anything!

2008 c300 luxury, P2, MM, Capri Blue Metallic
this is the exact reason we bought a c300 luxury model; we wanted the tan interior with our dk blue metallic exterior...very sharp!
