GPS question

Is there a way to display the cross street names on the map? When I am driving, I would like to look at the map and know that Hudson Street is approaching etc. But when you look at the map, it only shows the cross streets as a bunch of lines.

How do you fix this? I know on the Lexus navigation, it displays the names of the streets as you pass them.

It depends on how far you have zoomed in on the nav. Try zooming in a bit on the vehicle position map and it should show all street names (it does on mine).

Also, if you switch to Navi in the instrument cluster while route guidance is on it will show you what street your next turn is on and how far you are away from it.

Ok guys I need some similar help here!

Just sold my friend a new C300 with the Multimedia package and he has complained greatly that the navigation system does not show street names on the screen like every other system known to man kind. I know all my cars show street names (non W204) but this 2008 C300 does not show street names for streets on the map (kind of important when reading a map). Also it does not say a street name when giving commands for the next turn. It just says turn in 200 ft. on the screen but it neglect to say the street name. My cars all so turn at this street etc and that to seems logical for a navigation system.

One post here says the street names do show up and that it can be done. can this be confirmed? Is this a firmware issue that can be resolved with maybe getting an update in the software? Is it something you can change through DAS?

Thanks for the info!

You just need to zoom in enough and it'll show the street names. There's no software or formware updates required. It also displays the street name you're currently on + the street name you are about to turn into. And that's both on the command screen and the MFD.
What I can't remember is if it says out the street name. I think it only says out road numbers, eg, turn right on the A321.
I'll check when I drive home tonight.
