C280 Correct Tyre Pressure

Hi Guys,,, Just need some advice on this one..... Its winter now and the temp varies around here from 14-26 Cel. What do u think the correct tyre pressure should be on my standard 225/45 17" wheels??

I am currently:

front: 30 psi
rear: 32 psi

The OP is in Egypt... not Europe. Dude...
And this is a W204 forum, not just a C300/C350 forum.

Twinspark, I don't think there is any need to adjust your tire pressure for winter in Cairo. Winter there is rather mild compared to many parts of the US and Europe. The tire inflation information might be shown on a label inside the drivers door, on the inside the glove box door, or on the inside the fuel filler door. Your current pressures are similar to mine, except my label reads 28 psi for the front. Always measure tire pressure when the tires are cold, meaning they have not moved for 6 to 8 hours. In addition to a tire pressure gauge in your tool kit, you should have a tire tread depth gauge. If the tires wear evenly from side to side, the pressure is good. If they wear more in the center, the pressure is too high. If they wear more on both edges, the tires are under inflated. If the tires wear on only one edge, the alignment needs correction.

For me, I like to add a couple of psi to the front because it makes the handling feel better to me.

Human kind may have started near the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, but it was Egyptians who created civilization and added culture to humanity. You are fortunate to live in a modern day place with such a rich history. Here in SoCal our history makes a cultural icon of a McDonald's built in 1958.

You are correct. These are the pressures I used for the same size tires on my W203. Aren't the pressures shown inside the gas flap?

Read a bit...

<<its the same model dude,,, C280=C300 different names for different markets... However, its the same engine & everything >>

Exactly right, as any knowledgeable 204 owner knows, or should know.

I would take issue with the idea that a 204 is the same. They are very similar, but not the same. There are significant differences between the NAFTA and ROW cars. Safetey and Emmissions are the primary differences, but there are also trim changes, adjustments for local fuel availability (octane rating), entertainment systems, communication systems, and available equipment.

Some of the reason is due to Daimler marketing and engineering desires, but most of the differences between the cars is because in the US we elect Bozo the clown to the legislature, while the rest of the world elects politicians.
