they didn't have it a couple months ago and produced it to deal with the low volume issues

yeah, just go to the dealer with the part number. the low volume is the cause of the static. You have to crank up the volume so high that it starts to sound terrible. The in-line AMP was a HUGE help.

Unless MB's system is different (or just plain terrible) in the new C, I feel some of you are describing aux inputs rather than iPod integration. Static and changing the volume on the iPod are charateristics of an auxiliary input. With iPod integration it shouldn't matter what the sound volume on the iPod is...

The in line amp is now supplied with the new IPOD kits assuming you don't have the MM package. Or at least dealers should be supplying them with the IPOD kits. The descrepancy here is that the in line amp is only needed for cars that DO NOT have the MM package. If you have the MM package you should not need the in line amp. Please someone correct me if I an wrong and you have MM and a bad sounding IPOD integration.

Anyone know of a line-in amp, for the regular AUX input?

What is this PCMIA slot everyone speaks of? Is this in all cars?

PCMIA is only on the MM package. Located center of the radio right below the volume knob.

PCMIA slot is only on the command units, the east way to tell is the command has a 7 inch screen and the standard radio has a 5 inch screen,
just go to the dealer for the volume issue they should be aware of it

Did anyone find out the answer to this? This is another one of my pet peeves; the volume of the aux port...

I have MM as well as the iPod kit and the AUX (iPod) volume is very low...I told my sales guy and he asked me to take this up with the service personnel when I get the car in for the 1000-3000 miles checkup!!
