Found a used C300 4matic good price?
Saw the car and it looks really good. I'm not planning to buy it or anything, but it looks like a good car.
08 C300 4Matic in Barolo Red, and Beige interior
P2 Package, and MM Package, but no Pano, and had teleaid
Has 3,895 miles, and were asking 39,995 for it.
I speced one online, and I could get a new one for 40,500$ before discounts. IS this really what c classes are worth now?

Only a decent deal if you can knock another 1K off and it comes with the CPO warranty. I just ordered a C300 4Matic Lux, P2, MM, Pano, Barolo Red/Black MB Tex for 41,775. They couldn't find any red/black lux 4matics..build date Jan 20, delivery a month later. The wait begins.

It is a fair deal.
The main advantage is that you don't have to wait for one, considering it is the color and optioned to your liking. Because it is pre-owned I'm sure you could knock off another $500 and/or work out some dealer installed options.
The supply at the dealerships in my area are extremely limited, so I'm guessing deals are hard to come by, unless you are a long time customer.

First and foremost you need to run a Carfax on that car. I am always worried about new cars with low miles that are being sold as used (accident and flood come to mind). Secondly, the car may just be a demo car, in which case I would steer clear of as well. Demo miles are about double or in some cases triple normal miles. My salesman (the best salesman I've ever met) enjoys showing how much power and agility a car has, so on more than one occasion he has given me a test drive in which he pretty much tears the crap out of the car. Now mind you he is doing it for sales purposes and wouldn't do anything that would physically hurt the car, but if he's doing it, lord only knows what people are doing when he isn't with them.

If the OP had any way of confirming how the vehicle was used, that would put him a little ahead of the curve. But just how likely would it be that the dealer is being truthful?

Pretty high price for a car with almost 4k on the odmeter. I paid 40,440 for a c300 4matic sport, P2, MM, Pano, iPod, Teleaid, and all weather mats. No wait, right off the lot.

In California any car w/ less than 6K miles is still a new car. Dealers put more millage on their "Demo" cars and re-sale them as new, often with no or little discount over a no millage car. The benefit you have is that your car may not have been abused, and was probably broken in correctly unlike a dealer demo. I say $39K is a good deal for an all-wheel drive P2 MM car. Although it's lacking two things for me. I don't like the dark red on the C300 IMO a very feminine color, and I'm also not a fan of the luxury car.

Also, I think you can tell if it's really a 'used' car by checking the title and seeing if it's ever been registered to an owner. If not, it's probably a demo car or something.
