On my 2011, from the Nav screen selecting the Destination menu doesn’t give an option to select an address from the Address Book. (Pics 1 & 2). However, if you access your Address Book through the Phone menu and pull up an address, there is an option to navigate to the address (Pics 3 & 4).
All of my addresses were imported Vcards (iPhone 4, Outlook, PCMCIA/SD situation) including the one shown. But the Navigate option is always grayed out for me. The COMAND Operator’s Manual says “Navigate can only be selected when the address data field contains complete navigable data.” Makes sense—it needs a complete addresses to plot a route. But all my addresses seem complete to me, yet COMAND doesn’t recognize them as navigable. Pic 5 shows the details of the address in my Vcard, which seems complete to me.
In hindsight, I picked a bad example to take pictures of since some of you may think that the “W. North…” part of the address may be confusing COMAND, but that’s not the case. I have the same problem with the Navigate option being grayed out on my other apparently complete addresses. (btw, W. North Avenue is a main street near me, and I have no problem entering the address in the example via the voice Enter Destination method.).
If anyone has figured out the trick to entering an “navigable address”, please share.

On my W221 if the address in the visitor card was not recognised by Comand for navigation, I can still access it and complete the fields Comand does not recognise.
It is a bit of a problem though for some addresses where I prefer the true postage address on the phone address book while the "street address" is not the same. If I don't have the work address for this entry, I can put the home address in both formats.

from what i've read it does recognize vcards.
i have an iphone 4 so i was never able to transfer my address book, it wasnt compatible.
i've read you can buy a PCMCIA card and export over your address book vcards that way.
I never did it that way.
I ended up buying the media interface plus which by the way is a pain to use.
with the media interface plus i was able to transfer over my address book but it only transfers numbers and first name and last name got transfer over to the last name field only. it wasn't a big deal to me. I ended up returning the media interface plus because i wasnt happy with the bluetooth performance, it would constantly disconnect for me.
but if you don't have an iphone 4 that part might now apply to you.
you can always buy the pcmcia card and export your contacts from either a pc or a mac im sure it might work.

My last picture is a detail of the address that COMAND does not recognize as navigable. It all looks complete to me. How do you tell which fields are not correct or incomplete? I guess I'm missing something.

Can you try set that address for a destination by the standard address search approach and then try to save the address (I don't know if 204 allows you to save it on a specific contact).

C300 Luxury
Hi
I have the same problem with my 2008 C300W.
We tested this at the dealorship with brand new C300. It does not navigate from imported contacts. I had tested it with perfect addresses which were recognized by GPS to Vcard converter program, which inserted the lat./long. coordinates.
When we tested the same address import into another E-class car via the PCM/CIA adapter, it was able to navigate.
So, does C300 need an upgrade of s/w?
