Anyone has problem with windshield wiper in cold snowy weather?

My windshield wiper works fine in rainy day. But, in cold snowy weather, it start to make loud rough rubber streaking sound while wiping like old cheap worn out wiper. Current wiper that comes with my C300 looks different from ordinary wiper I have been seen before. There is no metal frame. It's like "L" shape rubberish frame with rubber blade attached at the bottom. So, I'm thinking about replacing with typical wiper. Anyone experienced similar problem?

No noise or streaking from mine.... but the outer two inches on the passenger side does not wipe. I tired to bend the wiper a little bit to get it to sit closer to the windshield, but it's still not wiping perfectly. Time for an "adjustment" visit to the dealer.

Yes... the last two inches or so.
Drives the rain sensor crazy sometimes.

I have a similar issue with my wipers also. Seems like the rubber is doing really well to wipe the rain off the windshield, but too much. Now every time the wipers wipe across, i get a rubber screeching sound. As I look closely, i see rubber marks or something on the windshield. Is that normal ?

My 1996 C220 had single wiper and the wiper never streak even on the flat dry windshield. I am wondering if the wiper that comes with the new C class has bad quailiy rubber blade or it's just us had bad luck with wiper..

Or maybe the new rubber style wiper frame has too much tension? bad design?
