Warning lights after snowfall
C220 CDI Sport 3k miles on the clock - out today in the first snow of the winter. After slipping & sliding for a while got message alert on speedo screen ESP ABS & BRV(i think) failure consult owners manual. Steering at low speed went heavy. Didn't stop, got home switched off ignition and then restarted. Steering returned to normal but warning still said ESP & ABS weren't working. A while later took car out for 1/4 mile drive and had no warning lights!! Anyone experienced anything similar?

Here's how you solve that one. The car needs more weight, so load it up with as much stuff as you can fit in it. Then is needs to log some miles to readjust, so drive 500-1000 miles due south from where you live. Then unload all of your stuff in your new place in the sun and the problem should go away...

sounds like you had a speed sensor failure, steering assist is also controlled by wheel speed, should of stored a fault code, if it happens again bring to dealer and take advantage of that warranty.

This happened due to excessive differential wheel spin (ie, the left side wheel spinning more than the right or vice versa). This resulted in ABS, ESP work overloading and switched itself off. I happened to me in the snow when one of the snow chain fall off on one wheel. Switch the ignition off for a few minutes and restart should correct the problem and the system should reset itself.
