Oh and Benzworld pales in comparison to this place for W204 content. I don't know where you even get the idea that place is more active than here.

The w204 is fairly new so I wouldn't expect any ground breaking things yet. So far most of the w204's have not been modded so what do you expect? Benzworld, is just dead. Have fun there.

A forum site is a place where people can gather and talk about their car, they can ask questions, they can make statements, they can share opinions. In this case this board does exactly that, so what if we all have the same questions we ask a million times over, at least we ask them. I find this forum fun and useful and isn't that whats its all about anyways? Please don't spam us with links to other sites, if we wanted to go there we would find them on our own thanks.

as you can see... i like this forum by my amount of posts... i was just throwin out a common feeling i know a lot of you have everyday when you are hoping to find some good new info here.... sorry, i didn't mean the other .org forum is better, cus it isn't... it just has some different stuff sometimes that slips by here....

i have like 2 posts at benzworld compared to like almost 300 here...

not a spammer, just wanted to mix it up a little since things seemed to have deadened in this forum recently...

One of the reason why this forum is almost "on cruise control" is, because the new C-Class is such a wonderful car and has no initial problems.

I did buy a 2003 BMW 745i and you should have see the BMW forum. Some cars would not even start and some were so bad, the dealerships bought the cars back. I had a problem, when I used the telephone, on the highway, all windows would open. My car was in the shop not for hours, not for days for a week at a time. BMW looked after me and I had no problems in that regard, but you should have read the forum.

We don't want to even talk about the design and the iDrive system. They are still talking about that today.

So the relative "silence" on this forum is a direct result of the excellence of the car.

Not a bad problem to have.

have you seen all the ads from benzworld?? its ridculous, I am so glad this forum has subtle and yet effective ads.... ads are necessary to upkeep the operation but the stuff they do at benzworld is just ridculous and unprofessional...

I’m going to go out on a limb and say this forum is pretty good. What I think the OP is observing is that the W204 section isn’t the most entertaining or informative due to a number of reasons. The W204 has transitioned into a more grown up car, I know there is a select audience and very small number who “Modify” their cars. I don’t gather that the new car is as appealing to the modders as it no longer looks like a fancy Civic but now a scaled down S-Cass. There is almost nothing you can do to the already sophisticated drive train to gain more power short of a custom exhaust or air filter change? Also it seems most people come to the W204 forum to brag about having Pk2/ MM or 4Matic. I think you will get more out of a more “enthusiast” thread like any of the AMG designated cars. But I wouldn’t blame Mbworld.com, you just choose to hang out in the equivillant of the “Toyota Camry” forums at ToyotaNation.com. If your talking about a Tacoma theres everything from wheels/ superchargers/ lifts/ etc… if your in the Camry forum it’s “Who else has beige on beige” that’s my 2 cents..

One big difference I've noticed here vs the BMW or Audi forums is that very few people seem imformed about the product beyond what options they want to buy. But it always takes 8mo to a year after a new model intro before forums start to pick up as more adventerous people buy in.

The early people are usually the anti-modders but the modders are the ones that make the forums worthwhile. Since they're the ones tearing the car apart and discovering what's pre-wired, what's not, how to do repairs yourself, etc.

that is true.. i have noticed that benzworld seems to be running a bit slower thses days but that may well have to do with them growing and not keeping up as far as the server capacity.

The whole "which forum is better" is a bit of a argumentative question: most people I know simply frequent both. There seems to be some questions that get asked on one and not the other. I do tend to see more technical posts over on benzworld but less overall posts, there seems to be more technical contributors there that i dont see here. Generally there are more general and common posts here.

In the end it doesnt really matter... both forums are pretty good.
