C300 Price and expectation...
So I had my heart set on the BMW 328i with the following options.
6-SPEED STEPTRONIC AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:
-normal
-sport
-manual shift modes
HEATED FRONT SEATS
DVD-BASED NAVIGATION SYSTEM:
-16:9 screen format
-voice command system
-real time traffic info
-iDrive system w/high-function on-board computer
-controller w/force feedback
IPOD & USB ADAPTER
PREMIUM PKG:
-Dakota leather seat trim
-universal garage door opener
-auto-dimming exterior mirrors w/2-position memory
-auto-dimming rearview mirror w/compass
-pwr front seats w/4-way pwr lumbar
-2-position driver seat memory
-BMW Assist w/4-year subscription
-Bluetooth interface
Until I spoke with my co-worker about it and told him what I was looking for. He then told me to look into C300. I always thought the sucker is out of my price range so I never gave it a thought. It turns out the pricing of the C300 and 328i are very close with the options I want. However, I know with the 328i I know I can get invoice +500 or worst +1000 and they have PLENTY of them on the ground already.
I was trying to search in the forum, unfortunately the search function is broken or something. So here I am posting my first question...
So, in Northern California, can I expect a C300 Sport Sedan at invoice + 500/1000 + tax + doc + destination = OTD? Or am I just dreaming here?
TIA!

i got my w204 for $500 above invoice. i suckered them by saying i was a costco member so they would lower the price form the start and then worked my way down to $500 over invoice. it helps going on a slow day in the evening when they need the sale the most.

good news is that i live in Cali as well, but bad news is that i live in SOCAL where you can always score a good deal. im sure you can score a great deal up north though. go shopping with an entourage so they cant bully you into higher prices. i had 3 other people go with me to get my car! it was a definately a team effort.

You have to just get the car you want, if its the Benz get the Benz, if its the BMW get the BMW. I can tell you right now your going to get the BMW for a lot cheaper than the Benz. The dealers in my area are knocking 2k off the M.S.R.P. prices in ads in the newspapers, so I'm sure if you went in to deal on one you could easily get more. When I was signing papers for my Benz I made a wise crack about BMW offering 2k off in the paper and my salesman said he had heard of people getting 5k off M.S.R.P. on deals as they were having a tough time moving cars. All this depends on the dealership of course, but I'm willing to bet the BMW will come in at a cheaper price. Just drive the C300 and you will be sold.

Try calling Victor at Walnut Creek M-B. He's the Internet/Fleet manager and dealing with him was relatively painless and straightforward. I refused to do anything on the phone, however, and did all the negotiating/talking through email (to keep a written record of the process). I talked to him for the first time on the phone after the OTD price was set, only to schedule when to go down to make a deposit.
And now I'm just waiting. Maybe 2 more weeks? I gotta call him again and confirm the date!

C3004Matic Sport, Blk on Blk, Pano, P1, MMC, Ipod
me at mb of morristown
i was maybe 1200 over invoice, 1200 below msrp. Would not recommend mb of morristown. Have heard good things of Prestige, in Paramus. Otherwise, have heard good things of Catena in Union or Edison, but I can add that I had a bad experience at Catena in Union which led me to MB of Morristown. I also should add, however, that the experience at Catena was otherwise top notch and think it was a single, unique event not related to me or the salesman. But, who knows so I bought elsewhere. Wish I had driven up the Parkway to Prestige before driving 78 then 287 to Morristown.

Prestige is #2 in the country (for volume so they get more allocation from corporate) after Fletcher Jones in Cali. Great experience, but then again my salesguy was highly recommended from a friend who's purchased several MB's from him so we got a great price and personal service.

I picked up an 08 Mars Red c300 sport today
Germany
6spd
AMG 5 twin spoke
Premium 2 package
333 Sport
Msrp 35,725
Sales Manager didn't want to discount the car off sticker at all
I got it for a few hundred under invoice.
Plus they threw in tire/ rim warranty, and 3M clear protection.

08' BMW E92 Coupe
Just put in my order for an 08' 328i coupe. Black with black leatherette, steptronic, sport package with paddle shifters, heated front seats, and ipod/usb connection. Didn't even price out the new C300 but I'm sure it would've been much cheaper. I test drove the new C but MB is just not my preference. Never liked my current C-class nearly as much as my 02' 330 coupe and as soon as I sat in the new coupe, I just knew I had to have it. I'm guessing the numbers you gave are for the sedan though? I'm putting $1,900 total out of pocket and payments will be $560/mo for 36 mos. with 12k a year. That's what I'm locked in unless the lease rates go down. Didn't really care much, just what I wanted. If I wanted a 4-door however, it would be the new C sport or A4 with S-Line package. Not feeling the 3-series sedan.
