The "manual" gearshift feature on the W204's autobox is only available as part of the Advanced Agility Package which gives you a third mode for the gearbox, i.e. C, S and M (for Manual) and steering wheel paddle shifters. What you guys have been discussing is the shift range restriction feature.

Nope tried the M as well. The clippers behind the steering wheel. There is a same lag there as well . around .8 to 1 secs to be very precise. There is no difference if you use the Stick or the clippers behind the steering wheel. The M here in Europe is not a part of advance agility. Advance agility is just a button which says sports on it which changes the handling dynamcs of the car and the car is lowerd 15mm more.

Sorry, my mistake. In the UK it's only the Sport model line that gets the gearshift paddles on the steering wheel and the Manual gearbox mode. The Advanced Agility Package (option code #483 - only available as an option on the Sport model line) gives you the sport button on the dash which provides "Sharper accelerator response; Continuously variable damping for improved ride; Quicker gearshifts via steering wheel gearshift paddles".

Seems that you need to spend more on options to get the quick manual gearchanges, then
