Why MB took that out on the new keys is stupid.

Here's a pic I found from another thread that shows the loop more clearly.

I'm gonna make a rash assumption here: the loop disappears when the owner's keep is put in. So, it's kind of useless anyway. For a valet key, the loop should have a ring in it already so all the valet has to do is hang it on his board. The loop that goes away means someone has to attach a ring/rubber band/etc. to make is useful, and remove it later. Too much work.

Or ... (there has to be a different reason, eh? ... the thing was prone to breakage so they just removed it!

The valet can just hang the key using the loop.

Most peg boards have pegs that are larger around than that little bitty loop!

a quarter mile at a time
that sucks, the best part of the loop thing was that the blade key always stayed on your keychain. Ingenious design.

Ya that's the first thing I noticed when I looked at the keys that came with my 204.

+1 +1

I never valet. Or at least try my hardest to avoid using one, especially because I have a stick. Valets suck at driving.

But my comment is off-topic, I suppose.
