05 c230 and 08 c300 rims interchangeable?
My old car (05 c230 sedan) is at the dealership with snow tires on it.
16" rims on blizzaks
I would like to take the snow tires off my 05 and put them on my c300 to get me through the rest of the winter until I buy a pickup. I'm not driving the car in the winter, especially not the AMG rims.
It's better off. She's in the garage and the thought of her going in the snow would kill me. We're supposed to get 8-12 inches tomorrow but she can stay there.
I don't start school the 22nd, so I'm not worried.

You say you bought a C300 which must be a Sport if it has 18" wheels so this may be of no help to you. After I purchased the 18" AMGs for my C300 Luxury, I hung onto the original 17" wheels for winter tires. This week I purchased a set of Nokian WR G2s and before I swapped the wheels (at home) I thought I would just see if the wheels from my '01 C320 (with Nokian WRs) would go on. I was surprised to see that they would go easily with no clearance problems although the narrower (7X16 ET37) wheels look a little lost in the fenderwells compared to the 18s (8X18 ET50 in front). I think the Sport model has larger diameter brake discs so the only way to know for sure is to try mounting a front wheel.
I'm advertising the '01 wheels on Craigslist without much action. They are new car takeoff 7X16 C coupe wheels and the Nokian tires have less than 500 miles on them.
Another question.
Since it has the Tire Pres. Mon. System, do I need to put a new set on the snow tires if I get them?
They're about $150 each which isnt bad, but do you need it>
I would have to reset the computer somehow, but maybe it's not worth it.
I just can't seem to justify spening $2500-3000 on a set of snow tires and rims.

TP sensors can be bought for $59 and system reset is done in the cluster menu.

I'm assuming Napa would have them. I'll make some calls.
Thanks!
I just need to figure out if the brake assembly is the same for the stock and 18" rims. I've seen pictures of the same car as mine (17" canadian wheels" original) with 16" snow tires. If mine is the same setup, I'm fine...but because it has the 18 from the factory, it could be different.
The sensors are a dealer item although Tire Rack sells the same ones made by Schrader. You should try the 16s on the front since the brake discs are larger in diameter than the rears.
My 16s fit fine on the front but it's the lowly Lux model. And, the 16's look a little small on the car.
The tires are dunlop wintersport m3s with hardly any miles on them
I found out that 17s will definently fit. I talked with luke at tire rack.
I'm going to try to see if I can order a new set of 17" wheels for the winter and when they come in I'll put my old snow tires on.
The TPMS is mounted to the wheel, so it shouldn't be a problem. I'll find out for sure.
I'm looking at the Sport Edition E3 17" wheel. They are machined.
Any opinions on whether to go with machined or painted for winter? I don't put many miles on, and I keep the wheels clean/waxed.
For me, it came down to looks. I like the look of the machined finish wheel.
Also, it was cheaper, so that was cool.
I dont put many miles on in the winter at all so I'm not worried.

But now that the E3's are $82 a piece, it may change my decision.
They look nice. They seem like they'll scratch easy though.
I'm ****, so they already have a coat of wax. I'll have to see if the scratches can be polished out...but if you're careful, it's not a big deal.
Obviously the painted will scratch too...but maybe the painted will hide it more so than the machined.
