Question for those with P2

Do the fog lights look different in terms of color when compared to the xenon headlights? In some pictures they look quite yellow, in others you can't tell the differences in color.

Thanks!

they dont look yellow to me in person. They're close enough to white.

I mean, they dont have the hue/color as the xenons, but it still looks good.

If you really wanted to, you could probably get the bootleg xenon bulbs for the foglights, but it looks great the way it is.

Right on, thanks for the info. I hadn't thought much about it until last week I saw another MB (not sure which model) that obviously had xenons but the fog lights were noticeably yellowish in color. I'm hoping it didn't come from the factory that way and they installed a xenons themselves. It was a bit blinding...

Yellowish

<<last week I saw another MB (not sure which model) that obviously had xenons but the fog lights were noticeably yellowish in color.>>

The stock bulbs are almost white but someone may have changed over to PIAA Ion-Crystal bulbs which look yellow to oncoming traffic but cast a white light. I have used these in my Porsche's foglights for perhaps ten years and still have a spare set I used in some past MB.

The foglights on my P2 equipped car looks really bright, and it is quite white for a halogen but definately not the cool bright white as the Xenons. I ended up changing the fog light bulbs to the Hoen Performance yellow bulbs which is a really yellow color which is excellent for poor weather driving.

Another thing I have discovered is that there is high and low setting for the foglights. When you have the light switched to automatic mode (with the daytime setting enabled), the headlights is on the dimmer setting during the day and it automatically switches to high/regular brightness when the outside is darker. I'm guessing the dimmer setting may make the foglights seem more yellow as it is not as bright.

I don't understand. I thought in automatic the fog lights were turned off, except when making a slow turn?

In fog, the manual says you have to leave automatic and go to regular headlight setting, and then pull out, for the fog lights, right?

How does the rear fog light work. The manual says there in one in the one of the rear taillights? Don't remember seeing anything like that when I test drove the car.

For the rear fog light, you have to turn it all the way to the right (manual mode), 1st pull - front fog lights, 2nd pull - rear fog light.
