I drive 2008 C350
Planning to get the H&R Spring this weekend and lower it a little bit. But with all these talking about killing the stock shock life span is making me worry. Should i really concern about this?

Nice B5.5 guys! I had plans to mod ours but never came around to doing it. Still have the car and it just sits around. I think I'll strat driving it again and throw some wheels on it.
As far as W204 mods go just getting bilsteins or Konis whichever comes out 1st and upgrade the swaybars. If I get bored then I'll pop for the Euroteck CF pieces. Other than that I'm pretty much done

Since some of u chaps posted your previous rides, i'll take this opportunity to post my previous one, hope u guys dont mind:
specs: 3.2litre V6, 250bhp, 300NM.
6-speed clutchless manual.
steering 1.75 turns lock to lock
Front wheel drive
mods arE:
- Bilstein PSS9 Coilovers
- Tarox G88 Rear brake discs
- Ferrodo Front brake pads
- Steel braided brake lines
- Saclam front & rear exhaust
- Carbon Kevlar intake pipe.
- Drop in K&N airfilter
- Carbon fibre front strut bar
- CF logos
- 18" x 8" forged lightweight GTA rims
- EFX lightweight battery
- HKS grounding kit
- Aluminium engine undertray
- plus other bits & pieces...
Only use synthetic MOTUL 20w50 weight engine oil wit oil change at every 7Kkms. All fluid changes at every 30Kkms.
it definitely aint a perfect car, but if u talk abt driver involvement & FUN, its hard to ask for more at this relatively low price point (vs the established brands tat is..).
im sad to let her go especially in a country tat makes it hard to appreciate such a car. but well, its abt time i try out something tat is beyond an italian. I am sure tat i will return to Alfa one day....
Unrealised mods:
- lightweight CF bonnet,
- supersprint V6 manifold, downpipe & race cat
- a LSD from Alfa Romeo or Quaiffe LSD...
- Saclam CF intake kit.

Nice potential mods Denver. Does Neuspeed have a swaybar for the w204?

trust me... if you change to lowered springs using your STOCK factory shocks, you WILL decrease the life span of your factory shocks. And more often than not, the decrease in life span is exponential... not gradual. On normal road use & some track days, ur lowered springs will still be good even if the stock shocks die off early.
if u do not care much for your stock shocks & plan to switch them after they die quickly then the option of lowered + stock shocks is good. Cause then you can re-use the lowered springs wit a suitable shock. Or change to coilovers to solve the problem altogether.
cheers

You go through all this trouble and expense for 1/2" drop which most people won't notice. What's that about?
Then if something else goes wrong with the car, MB doesn't want to honor the warranty due to the modification.
Just seems like a bad idea.
I like keeping my ride original.
