Looking to add aftermarket amps and speakers and can't find the factory radio amp. I've been told on the left side (driver's) in the trunk. All I see is sheet metal. On the right side, I see something; however none of the wires which have been identified by color which go to the speakers go this box. Any other ideas. By the way, it is a standard C, no MM package. Thanks.
P.S. you might say why is this idiot putting in aftermarket components when he can't find the amp, but I have successfully put in systems in my 06 E and 05 C without problems.

Are you certain the is a separate amp on the non-MM systems? Maybe it's just part of the radio unit? That is the way it was in one of my previous cars, even though it had a 'premium' audio system with 330watts.

The amp is only in the trunk on a car with MM package. for standard audio I believe it is part of radio.
