Low Dust Brake Pads

Anybody try these low dust brake pads?

http://www.formymercedes.com/porterfield.asp

They're supposed to be 90% less brake dust than OEM.

I've tried these on my W203 and they really reduced the brake dust alot. I'm considering to get these for the rear but it seems that they have not released them yet for the new C.

i bought a new 07 bmw z4 a few months ago...it was my first car. I didn't know about how bad the brake dust was on bimmers and i researched a lot to find low-dust brake pads, i settled on Axxis deluxe brakepads...the cost me $120 for all four and now the dust that used to be produced in two days with the oem pads is produced in like two or three weeks on these...BIG AMAZING difference

I got them because they save a LOT of time in you having to clean your wheels every few days.

If I get the C, this will probably be my first mod.

Axxis Deluxe FTW!!! I had these on most of my previous cars.
I used Axxis Ultimates for my M3 which produced a little more dust than the Deluxe, but definitely less than stock!

X3 and 2012 C coming soon
I have used the Axxis Deluxe as well. They will be going on the C. It is amazing how low-dusting they are. I used metal masters on a Saab I once had. They were cool too.

I believe there is an electronic brake sensor that the OEM pads come with that has to be installed at the same time. Does the Axxis come with this?

The ones for my Passat did. There are two wires that that come off of the front pads and plug into sensors. If the manufacturers are making the pads, they should know about the sensors.

A set of front & rear low dust pads combined with this stuff will be awesome. No more breaking your back brushing down the wheels, just hose them off.

Any wax that's good on a clearcoat will work great for the wheels. I've used many different waxes on my wheels, all with positive results.

Yeah, I don't think it's much different than any other wax.

wax the surfaces like you would do on your paint. do two or three coats.

after you notice some dusting of your breaks, take the hose to your wheels...you will see how easy the dust comes off.

i rewaxed my daily driver two to three times a year - and never had any issues or struggles with keeping my wheels clean.

In fact, I used Klasse AIO on the entire car and the polished the metal of the car after that with zaino....great results.

I put Akebono's on my '04 CLK... No dust whatsoever anymore and no noticeable reduction in brake performance... Not sure if they make them for the new C class yet though...

Are those low dust brake pads actually good though? Like stopping wise compared to the OEM?

They are good and stopping wise is similar to OEM.

another good way to reduce brake dust is to not use the brakes at all. its all go and no slow! who needs to stop anyways? just go faster! lol

My concern is whether these reduced dust pads are harder therefore shorten the life of the brake rotors.I will be sticking with the MB supplied pads.
