You guys are being taken! Most new cars in Colorado add the clear bras due to the amount of sand used on the roads. In any event, specialty shops do a great job for about $150 per car. My MB dealer "lists" the clear bra as a $595 dealer option on the C-Class. However, I am getting ours done by the dealer for about $200.

I bought 3m scotchguard for mine. Cost was around 150 +shipping(precut). Installed myself. took about an hr. will post some pics later. It covers the front part of the hood, bumper and 2 side mirrors. Feels pretty thick. plus 5yr coverage and its 3m so yea.

OK to be clear I didn't bite on the offer. It was $1151 for the car. Pretty funny is the flyer that came with the offer that had Jerry Rice (SF 49r fame) laid all over the front cover. there's ya retirement for ya.

I personally wont go for it. For one, its not a known name like 3m. They claim to have to warranty but, how do you know its not going to mess up your paint?... I would pay the extra and grab some 3m or a known brand.

I have it installed and love it. I think it's already saved me a chip or two because I can see two small imperfections in it now that were not there before. Best $400 I've spent in a while. I'd take a picture, but I already tried and in the garage lighting you can't see it, and it's too damn cold (-4F) to go outside...

I have installed it many times on previous cars. You can get 3M from a company that sell it on eBay.
I am getting the clear platinum kit.

X-pel sells it, but it is way too much for the same stuff. They have more extensive kits though. They also talk about a luggage area kit, but it looks like the front bumper. Anyway, X-pel is a really good company. I have dealt with them a lot.
