<<Hi Anyone here has the step by step grille removal instruction?>>

I did this yesterday. Someone said, once you have done it, fifteen minutes. The first time with no instructions..........

Once you have popped the hood:
1) Push the lower part of the grille towards the engine it "clips" out of the bumper.
2) You will see that there are 2 tabs (1 on the left and 1 on the right) that attach the grille to the bumper. Slowly push the upper part of the grille and then you're done.

Hope this helps. If the instructions lack elaboration, just pm me.

Thats all and good...but how to you remove that damn cover over the top of the grille and hood latch? Theres a nice twist button..but once you twist it nothing happens, even shined a light under neath to see if it was held on by something and came up empty.

It doesn't need to be removed. Great thing you mentioned this. After the second step, there's a small latch that holds the center of the grille. You need to see that small part clearly in order to know what to do with it. Basically, you just need to hold that latch and push that part of the grille where the latch holds it either to the left or right so that the grille can be removed totally.
To install the new grille, you would need to attach the grille to that small latch first before attaching it to the bumper.

Rebel, it looks like you left the black plastic center star in the grill for painting. Is that correct? What color did you paint it?

I have mine at the body shop currently for Obsidian Black everything has been removed except the very top black strip. That thing just wouldn't come off. Otherwise everything is off, all chrome, full center star w/black plastic backing.

We didn't remove the full center star with black pastic backing since it would be covered by the chrome star anyways.

I had it painted black FLAT. the result actually looks like the plastic top black strip that you couldn't remove.

Getting the chrome out is a serious PITA. Basically take your time with two small flathead screwdrivers. At least this is what I did. The chrome inserts fit together very very tight to the main grill body. One suggestion for the center star is to remove the entire "assembly" which includes the chrome star and the black plastic backing. The whole thing will fall out once you pry out the bottom two tabs at the 5 and 7 o'clock positions. From there if you want to paint the black plastic it will be easy to remove the chrome.

At first I didn't know how as the clips seem very fragile but during the installation I notice the guy who did it was very simple and practical.

They use a screw driver to press down the PLASTIC grille body that the chrome clip attaches as a result it would give slack for easy removal of the clips attached to the plastic.

Do not try to move the chrome clips unless it's loose on where it clips on as it may break apart.

I hope this helps.

Yes this is at the back of the grille where the clip of the chrome attaches.

Just use a screw driver to press it towards the front and the clip of the chrome will loosen.
