Since you once speculated about how your car would make it to the West Coast, I think the answer is that it will be off-loaded in Baltimore and transferred to another ship for the trip through the Canal to LA. That's how BMW handles its South Africa production that is destined for the West Coast. [For some reason, these SA ships apparently don't make the trip West, probably because there isn't enough of a load in each case to justify it - they consolidate car loads in Baltimore.]

All these ships are sized for the canal. None of them are especially large compared with the biggest stuff out there. It's more a case of making sure the vessel is full enough to keep per-car costs in line.
