Source for tinted tails
I've been meaning to post this link for a while for those of you who wanted tinted tail lights. A lot of Passat owners have used this company. Hope it helps.

One of those Passat owners was me!
Jon was a member of the PassatWorld Forums for a long long time and have been experimenting with tinting taillights until he perfected his art and has done a ton of forum member's Passats, which soon spread to other VW and Audi club members. He has a very successful business now doing all kinds of cars.
The quality is outstanding and extremely durable. After 5 years they still look just like new and I have polished them numerous times and they never have peeled, faded or gone dull (this was his first generation tints, but what he uses now is even more durable). I had the my taillights done in a medium smoke tint, which looked fairly dark, but in sunlight you could still make out the red and clear parts.
You will need to have your car out of commission for a little time, as you will need to pull them off and send them to Jon via next day courier. There are some popular models where he has an exchange program -- he sends you previously used tail lights that has been tinted to your desired darkness, and as soon as you receive them you send your old tail lights. Your taillights has to be in good condition to qualify fo this exchange.
I am considering getting taillights for my C done in the light-medium tint,
and a medium tint for the front side markers.
The left shows the light-medium tint and the right is stock

I just have to figure out how to remove those parts.

Thats a real good price. I looked at this place local and they said $600! Wasnt really thrilled that a tint job on some taillights were gunna cost so much. Then again I really have not looked into it.

It's not that hard to DIY...all you need is a little soapy water and a sqeegy...
