tints and corners oh my (pics inside)

finally got tinted today and i'm pretty happy with the look...20% all around with 5% on the rear window. i also decided that i couldn't stand the orange corners anymore and settled on nightshading them until a smoked corner comes out. please forgive how dirty it is.

nice job on the tint looks very stealth. Ive been thinking about smoking my corner lights also. but since my car is silver i was thinking about a light smoke... did u tint ur corner lights (lamin-x)? or sprayed it with some sort of smoked?

Hey Trial,

Thanks for the pics, I'm thinking of tinting my black C300 with 25% all around, is that a big difference from 20%? I don't want it too dark but not too light to the point where it's barely noticeable.

Best Regards,

Daniel

my thinking going into this was that 30% was way too light for my taste and based on that i settled on 20-25%. seeing how good the 20% looked i figured if i'm going to get a ticket for 25% i might as well get a ticket for 20%.

i wouldn't say the 20% is too dark. the pictures i took were at night and also remember that i went 5% on the rear window which stops a lot of light from getting into the car. it also helped that the shop i went to offered either 20% or 30% (made my decision a lot easier).

actually getting 35% tint all around on a black car wouldnt be too bad. the car is already black and it would be harder to see inside. Why did you do 5% in the rear? why not just settle 20 % all around. it doesnt make sense to me but i guess everybody has their own view on things

5% in the rear was done because a) its legal to go 5% in the rear in california; b) the rear window gets a ton of direct sunlight because of its angle and makes probably the single biggest difference in terms of light inside the car; and c) it really helps against suv's and such blasting their headlights behind you.

do you have a problem seeing out the back, especially at night?

I'm thinking of getting the side windows done in 20% and the rear 30%. I could deploy the rear sunshade if it gets really bright or hot during the day.

havent had any problems yet but its only been a few days. my previous car was tinted 5% the whole way around and i always had to lower the windows when backing out.
