Forum question

I know this is off topic, but it's hamperinig my style ;-0)

Whenever I read a new set of messages and go back to the forum list, that message is no longer bold. That works well for keeping track of where I've been.

But, if I click on a photo, or a link from a message, suddenly ALL of the messages I've already looked at become marked as unread (back to bold). To get them back to "read", I click on them and quickly click back. Annoyance.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? There are times I just ignore the posted photos because I know that the list of what I've seen will just go away again.

thanks

I've tried recreating on my computer the situation you described, and my list does not go all bold. And I don't think you're doing anything "wrong" by clicking on a photo. It might be something in your User CP (upper left corner), in some option... Must be annoying though. Good luck.

That's never happened to me before. Maybe you are clicking "back" instead of the "c-class w204" at the top of the page.

Good idea, but nope! I always click the W204 link to get back.

Yesterday it got even stranger. I had another tab open and went off to look at something there while I had a thread open here. When I got back all the links were back to "bold'/unread.

I'm thinking it's an IE 7 thing, but dunno!

thanks

Bold, not so bold

<<I'm thinking it's an IE 7 thing, but dunno!>>

I'm using Firefox (free) for this site (in fact, for almost all websites) and it is soooo much better.

Explains everything!

Come on over to the light side, brother.

Download Firefox at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/ or Opera at http://www.opera.com/. Why would you use IE in this day and age? Hopefully it's just an IE problem.

Interesting ....

I've had Firefox for ages, and actually have the browser up and running for other purposes alongside IE 7 ... ;-(

So, a quick test. I launched the forum under Firefox and then went off to look at sites and images and such as referred to in the forum. It all works as advertised.

My guess is that it definitely is an IE 7 problem. So ... one part of the problem is resolved: I'll use Firefox here for the forum.

Now at work? That's a different problem. Actually I have a variety of work situations. One I can easily modify, others maybe not. I'll have to work that through ;-P

thanks for the help. I'll bump this if there's more problems later on.
