It's easy to find out how much. Just ask the sales manager at your dealer what the comparative trade in value would be for a car that had been in a $20K accident versus no accident damage.

It will be a big number.
I have never heard of this, do you know where I can find more information about it? That would be great, because it really isn't fair for me to have to deal with the lesser value because of the other driver's carelessness.

This is irrelivant, but i know bay ridge lexus does collision repairs for Lexus' so im assuming theres gana be an mb dealer that does it.

Anyways.. keep us posted on how the repair turns out!
Well my car is at a dealership and they work with the body shop. They're kind of like the middle men. Under normal circumstances i wouldn't go to the dealer for body work because of their inflated prices, but hey, the woman who hit me deserves it.

I believe it is called "diminished value".

Make sure you go after "Diminished Value". Here is a website that will help calculate what it could be. My SL55 got slammed in the rear. Nowhere near as bad as yours and my repairs are around $ 10,000. I may use the website to see if its worth the $ 100.00.
They are saying I should get an extra $ 4500.00 in diminished Value.
http://www.diminishedvalue.com/

With the Diminished Value and loss of use/rental it may get them to Total It.

Good luck with your health and hopefully getting another New C300.

FYI. The Hyundai that hit me was Totaled. It just makes you sick when you take such good care of your Benz and someones moment or lack of attention results in your car getting ruined....

Absolutely, that is the worse part of it. I think it would have been easier to come to terms with if it was my fault.
