Debating between both, not sure which one to get. I like the looks of the C, but performance of S5. Anyone have any experience with the S5 or even A5?

WTF?!? Can't imagine two cars in more radically different classes or price points.
S5 of course. What's the S5 running, like 58-60k?
Now if you asked A4 2.0T Quattro or C300 4matic, I could understand. But S5?!? That's like asking, hey should I get the Ferrari or should I get the Ford Focus?

haha i knew I could get that response. It's just that to get a tiptronic S5 it's an insane wait.....like 8 months. So that's why the C is a LOT more appealing right now...the wait would be painful

Really? I would've figured all the S5's would be tips, manual just doesn't seem to fit the character of the car.
Still, S5 with that awesome battleship gray and red interior. If I was in that market, no way I'd go with a C; I'd be bored out of my mind 3mo after buying it if I originally wanted an S5. Hey, wait, I already am bored out of my mind with this car. It's competent, I *love* the ride handling trade off, but the car is about as emotionally appealing as dry whole wheat toast.
At least look at a 335i ... oh you probably need AWD ... yeah that's tough call then. But honestly, there's no way I'd take this car over an S5 no matter how long the wait. I'd go rent a camry or something from Hertz if I had to.
I'm biased though, we've got a Q7 and I love that thing so much I keep trying to steal it from my wife.

Get the Audi if you can stand the wait, the odd timing of the model updates, the corvette fenders and the ****-poor dealership service departments. Kidding...it's a sweet ride. I would think the C is more comparable to an A4 though (as posted earlier).

I recently drove an A5 (not S5) and I was impressed with it. But, you are comparing two very different vehicles. If the price was comperable, I'd go for the A5 over a C-Class. I love the design of the A5. It has the perfect amount of power and it drives quite well. It was less harsh the a sport-equipped BMW 3-er but it felt more competent than a sport-C. Honestly, you can't go wrong with either vehicle.
