with that kind of payment, why not just purchase?

$40,000 loan @ 5.9% over 72 months = $661 monthly payment

Sounds about right, I'd go for it.

What's the money factor?

I'm in Vancouver but price wise, the US is has much better value for the C purchase. Our Canadian dollar is at par with the US but our MSRP is still approx $10K higher than the US including the $1895 for freight and PDI, yet the states only pay $790 and it's already included in the MRSP.

Thought about import a US model but the duty of 6% and further modification once it's on Canadian soil quickly shot that idea down. I couldn't bare having my new C's dashboard ripped apart just to meet Canadian regulations. I bit the bullet (like all Canadians do) and bought it here. I'm super delighted with my C350.

Whoopie...Canada gets the memory seats and keyless entry...but for an extra $10K?! As for the C350 4Matic not available in the states, unless New Jersey snows a lot, a C350 Sport is pretty good value. And, the 7G-Tronic transmission is oh-so-smooth.

By the way, I'm going to visit NJ soon!

The C drivers in Vancouver is still part of the exclusivity club and respect is noticeable from the light head nods and smiles upon passing. We respect the way it looks and feels...and the long wait to finally own one. For now, C there is peace. Take good care of your baby.

I'll be in NJ for 3 weeks. IM me with some tourist places, good restaurants and party places in Manhattan and NJ . Nothing's better than inside info from the locals!

Hi C350Silver. Any deal in the US is anytime better than buying one in Canada, but as you said...no memory seats and Keyless Go.

Looks like we may have identical cars. We ordered Palladium Silver C350Sport with black/grey MB-Tex, Premium Package, Keyless Go and 18" AMG wheels.

Production was March 01 and hope to take delivery sometime late April.
Drive carefully and enjoy your new ride.

Does tax mean tax on the portion of the lease value...or the tax on the purchase price of the car?

There's a nice C300 Sport on Fleetrates.com for $369 a month.. Has anyone ever dealt with them? I've heard mixed things about them. It's listing the member price as $35975, so how does that equate to $369 a month?

Is that with a $10k down payment or something? How is that possible?

Go into fleetrates with your guard up. They kept offering me incredible rates compared to what was available from mbusa at the time (last sept) but whenever I asked for paperwork to sign nothing ever appeared. Eventually they just stopped returning calls.

I got the impression that they only wanted to do business in so cal ... or maybe large markets? They said shipping was no problem, but I'd have to arrange for it.

If you own the car you can depreciate the whole thing equivalent to write off of lease payments. Problem is the car depreciates and you face that when you decide to sell. Leasing is a little more expensive but takes out the worry.

That's what I figured.. Anyone see how that previous deal I posted is possible outside of a ridiculous down payment?
