If you don't have MM how are you guys doing it? I'm guessing I'll end up having to keep a windows mobile device around to vcard contacts to the car. Or is there another way?

That is what I did. I took someone's RAZR and sent the names and numbers I *had* to have to the C300.

Just traded my Lexus ES for the 2009 c300. Features that work are great. Too bad the electronics are so inferior. No way to export vCard with my iphone? No way to enter addresses manually? The dealer wasted my time thinking they could do it. What an archaic car!

What? You can't put contacts onto the Bluetooth manually?

I don't have the car yet

MM won't help either

From my extensive internet searching, it appears you can do a round about download of contacts with the PCMCIA card. Still - old technology protecting proprietary Mcrosoft or MErcedes programming.

I became spoiled with Infinity and Lexus electronics and never considered that an '09 would be sold with such obsolete antiquity.

My friend has a lexus is250 with all the bells and whistles and he went through a lot of trouble to transfer his contacts. I also prefer the MB knob on the center than the touch screen.

I think our MM system, is overall better than his IS system. However, it is a trade off, you gain here and lose there. For instance, MB really screwed up by not installing a backup camera (but you can add one for about $300). But we have the HDD and the DVD.

I agreee that appart from the MM system, his IS has many other technology features that we dont have, like keyless go, wheel shift paddles, an air vent on the seat and headlights that adjust to curves. However, the difference in the ride and driving quality makes up for these features.

Take BMW 3 series of example, they have the worst MM system of all, and still it is the preffered car in this class.

Sure I got upset at the lack of features compared to the Japanese cars, but I don't regret buying my C class over the IS (or G35), and I would do it again if I had to decide today.

You can't have the best from both sides, at least not on this price range. At the end of the day it is your choice.

the canadian 08's and 09's both have cornering headlamps. I would be surprised if american ones didnt.

09's have shift paddles too.

and is the backup camera dealer installed?

No, but it is an easy job (there is even a DIY for it), and it shows on the COMAND screen with orignial warning msg and everything. Impossible to tell it is not OEM.
