v1 install

finally washed the inside and got some pics of my v1. of course i realized after the fact that i forgot to wipe down the rear view mirror

the wire is tucked under the headliner and goes down the pillar (which i busted a bracket off of trying to remove) and goes into the glove compartment which is in fact switched -- so the unit turns on/off with keyturns.

the wire hanging out of the glovebox is the aux cable for my ipod btw...

are you trying to lure me into some maze of circular logic?

a hidden install requires wiring the entire car front and back with the detector's front and rear detection components behind the bumpers and then hooking up a display somewhere subtle in the cockpit i.e. near the instrument panel. really great if you can afford it -- i sure can't and as far as i'm concerned its an impossible DIY.

lol nope, but a V1 doesnt make u invisible
so i know here in ontario, canada. they can tow your car if caught with a radar.
so i wouldnt want it to be so visible if i was pulled over.

can you post a picture of the cable actually running into your glove box? i've had trouble getting the glove box to close properly with the cable hanging out.

i did the same thing with my passport 8500 x50 (blue) ... i have it mounted just like the v1 and just tucked the wire running it into the glovebox. It was a little challenging tucking the wire into the side panel passenger door corner but it turned out pretty good.

I'll get some pictures of the wire running into the glovebox when I get home from work. I remember it being difficult to get that side panel to clip shut but after moving the wire around enough it fell into a good spot where you couldn't see it anymore and the panel closed. Pics to come.
