Looking to get rid of my W204
I have it listed on leasetrader.com (ad # LT122953). It's a 2008 C300 w/ p2, MM, AMG wheels & Ipod adapter. 22 months remaining on lease & will pay anyone interested 1k to take it over. It currently has 2021 miles & I took deliver on November 2, 2008. I want to go back to BMW, Mercedes just isn't doing it for me (I came from an e90).

I thought it would "grow" on me. After five BMWs, however, I've realized the grass isn't always more green on the other side of the fence. It's not that I don't like the car (it's a great car). . ."it's no BMW." I had so much trouble out of my e90 that I more or less got the W204 out of frustration with BMWs reliability.

2008 BMW 335i Coupe (Six-speed Manual)
If reliability was number one priority, I wouldn't even consider a German car. My current car is notorious for a lot of problems but I haven't encountered any of them... makes me just want to hold onto it a little more. Good luck with your lease.

Exactly, to each his own...I did just the opposite, but I kept my BMW till the warranty went up (4 years) and then I got rid of it. I never cared for it, but at the time it was the only worth while luxo sedan offering all wheel drive, I didn't consider Audi a luxo brand at the time, but they have since proved their worth in my eyes. At any rate I couldn't wait to get rid of my 3 series but didn't want to take a bit hit on it so I just sucked it up and drove it. So happy to be back in the MB sedan fold, but good luck to you on your next BMW purchase.

If I thought anybody'd take over my lease, I'd be looking at a 135i right about now ... or probably already driving a slightly used S4 convertible that I had the chance to nab.
Every time I drive my C300 I realize it's a good car; but it's not a great car. It's just so dull.
I'd probably feel different if I could ever find a seating position that didn't cause me considerable pain.

- Something different... I've already had the E90
- Slightly rattly engine in E90 compared to C220. This is a minor point.
- Better ride in C220 I believe due to run-flat tires of E90.
- COMAND seems more user friendly than i-Drive.
- Newer model
- Nicer interior.
I hope I don't experience the same outcome as you. Did you have the same reasons when you first decided to change to the C class?

Have confidence Melbourne Tim, we drove the Beema & found the suspension too hard for our conditions , the interior too busy & did not seem as spacious , nice to have a spare tyre in Australia & not as relaxed to drive. The 220 CDI is very much more a user friendly vehicle.

Sorry to hear that. i came from a BMW too. but in my case it has grown on me. As you say, it's no BMW. I thought this a few months but then what does it for me is everytime i park the car, i look back and am so attached to how it looks!
After about 10 months of ownership i've just learnt to drive the MB how i guess it was meant to be driven. i'm really happy with it. In fact, not that was i maniac or anything before, but the MB has also changed my driving style much more easy going. The BMW almost beg to be driven hard in my opinion, the MB seems to like being gentler but does offer that bit of exciting driving (up to a limit) when you want it..
In any case, hope it works out for you.

2008 220CDI Sport Auto Estate, Obsidian Black, Black leather, Heated Seats,Pan Roof, Comand,
I agree with MrPurple re the MB makes you drive differently. I haven't had the E90 never liked the styling, I personally much prefered the E46.
One of the things I do like about the MB 'C' is with the advanced agility package you can set the drive for comfort or at the press of a button you can stiffen up suspension and make the gear changes quicker as well as making throttle more resonsive.
Anyway good luck with whatever you choose to do

Thanks, Carsy. Certainly from the numerous tests drives I have, and every time I look at a C class, I don't think I'll have any regrets. As you said, I also felt the ride quality much more relaxing in the C class. Also the feedback from Mr Purple is reassuring. I can't wait!
I had forgotton about the BMW ride quality! and yes, it is much softer on the MB sports model. in fact, it is exactly how i like it. hardened but not so your head ends up making a sunroof ..
Any other questions feel free to ask.

That's interesting. i didnt have the option of the agility pack as i got my car when it first came out and it wasnt an option until Aug 07. Is it a noticable difference? do you find that you use it?

You definitely can tell the difference and I think it was well the extra £££'s just for the opportunity to have a more sporty drive if wanted.
Only tried it a couple of times to try it out as I am unable to drive at the moment due to fractured elbow

MELBOURNE TIM, don't do it. One of the things I've noticed is that the interior of the C is one of my biggest turn-offs (next to the "softer" ride). I also thought I would be happier with the "newer" car (the newly redesigned W204). Turned out, I wasn't. That's not to say your situation will be the same. I suggest you get the dealer to give you a loaner or a "demo" to drive for a few days. Three days of driving it in everyday conditions should make up your mind for you. I've come to realize that I want to get rid of mine so badly that I might just have to bite the bullet and trade the beast.
For what it's worth, the W204's audio system is superior to BMW's. The MM package in mine is vastly more improved than BMW's logic 7 system and the 450 watt HK surround sound it has is enrapturing at times.

Don't know about that 135i, for 4k more you can have the 335i with four doors and a real back seat, not to mention better looks.
Actually, since the 1 is so new, and there are so many 335i's sitting on lots, I'd bet I could get a 335 for the same price as a 135.

hehehe... funny you say that i remember thinking did i just type on a public forum, am i, at age of 32, officially old? Did the fact i got married last year have anything to do it? Am i subconsciously thinking that my wife will kill me if get killed driving too fast?

George Carlin used to have a great line about Mercedes drivers. Now I understand that there was a little seed of truth in it.

Anyhow, it's good to hear about how satisfying it is to be a C 220 CDI owner. I came from a C 200 K... and I'm really happy about my choice.
