Good evening all,

I have just started a new job and the company has hired me a 2008 C180K. The car only comes with a brief summary sheet of controls and so any help would do with the most straight forward of things. How do you turn the TA traffic announcement feature off. I have scrolled through the menus and can not find it, and I can not see an obvious button for it.

Thanks in advance Rich

According to manual if you press and hold the mute button on the wheel then this should cancel the TA.

Hope this helps

Is there any way to turn off the turn by turn voice directions? Sometimes I want to get directions but don't want the voice but like the map directions on the navi.

Thanks,

Daniel

If you press the mute button whilst an instruction is being read out this will turn off the navi instructions. When you restart the engine it will automatically come on again.

It only applies to the option that you use it on i.e use on navi it will only apply to navi.

I don't know if you get this feature in the US but if you go press radio whilst in the radio window if you have TA you will see.

1, Station List
2, Frequency entry
3, Frequency fix
4, TA

If you have TA you just tick the box. This is all dependant on whether your radio stations transmit traffic reports.

Hope this helps

US and Canada are retards in this regard. In UK the open roofs automatically close after ignition switch off if there is rain, and there are other features we don't get it here. Yes Yankees are pissed with no mem seats and keyless-go, but even Canadians are deprived of many features.

We are all 2nd class citizens.

Hah, brings back memories of a car I rented in Brussles a few years ago with TA (not a Mercedes btw). I was humming down the highway when I heard a weird voice out of the blue ... unknown to me, the car's nav was on and set to Dutch!

Wasn't till a couple days later when I gave someone a ride that they figured out what it was and how to change to English and then I finally understood what those strange voices were!
