Whoa! I didn't know you couldn't do that in the W204. I always thought all MB navs could be used at any time.

This is in fact true. I got the message "Destination cannot be entered when in drive" while the car is moving.

Are you trying to locate a POI destination or enter an address to navigate to? You can enter a destination at anytime using voice command.

Trus me, in this car, the voice command is AMAZING. Sometimes I try to say things in a really low, loud, soft, or high-pitched voice, and it still recognizes what I say about 90%-95% of the time.

I agreed, the voice command is great to use when you are driving, just say
"enter destination" and the Navi will start to ask you what city and street, all you have to do is reply clearly, very impress.

I tried the voice command with my friend's BMW 535I with Navi and it is really bad to use.

I'm wondering - is there ANY other NAV in any other car make or model out there where you can "say" the street name while driving? I think the Mercedes voice recogntion by nuance.com (the maker of Dragon Naturally Speaking) is light years ahead of BMW, Audi, etc.

You shouldn't buy a car based on the frills, but I frankly ordered the 2009 C204 over the BMW 3 series or Audi A4 due to this feature!

rb23lb - I'm getting a 2009 exactly like yours (if you have beige interior with burlwood) right down to the Pano roof and AMG wheels. How do you like it and can you post a pic for me? I was originally going to get the C63 but my wife balked at the gas mileage.

And I'm not sure I understand your post. Are you happy with the voice command while driving?

i love it man... love adding simple mods now that they are starting to be more available....

gas milage sucks on the streets at 18 mpg, but highway I can almost get 35 mpg on some trips...

dont regret the purchase one bit... although if i were you i would wait one more year until 2010 and get the 300 hp new engine that is coming... for 2 years wait, i could not justify waiting, but now that it is one year away, i would wait if i were u...

or wait for the c diesel blutech in 2010 or 2011

My car is supposed to be here next week, so too late to wait for the FSI engine - although they will finally give BMW 335i a run for the money next year I'm sure.

As it should be while driving

One other question on voice command. If I put a memory card with music in the PCMCIA slot, can you say "next song" or call up folders or artists?
