Engine warms up very quickly?

Does anybody notice that the engine in the C300 and 350 warms up to ideal engine temperature (from 0 degree) very quickly?

it has to, all new cars do, the cats need to come up to temperature very quickly to meet emissions standards. a cold engine/exhaust system pollutes alot.

How quick is "quickly?" Mine takes at least 5 minutes to reach "hot', and a lot of that is on the freeway.

It does get better mileage (mpg) when warm, and even better if the outside air is over 50 F.

Don't let that fool you though, just because the water temp. is up to running standards, doesn't mean the oil temp. and oil pressure are.

I drive at least 10 mins keeping it under about 2500 rpm until I goose it. Don't want to build up too much oil pressure when cold and blow a seal somewhere.

Mine is rather slow to warm up.

Funny, but I've been thinking that mine is rather slow to warm up. Could the thermostat be stuck in the open position?

i noticed this too. i park in a tower lot and it is really cold in there. the average temp right now in vancouver is 3-5 celcius. within a matter of minutes the car goes from cold to warm.

I checked mine this morning. Outside temp was 46 F. It took 9 minutes and 4 miles to get up to normal operating temperature. I don't find that slow, rather fairly normal. Just leaving the garage, now that's quick!
