my old wheels fit!!! HORRAY!!!

last night I decided to put on my summer tires and wheels which I had on my Passat. I was worried that the offset maybe an issue, it is a 8.5" wheel with a 40mm offset. After putting all of the wheels on, I am really happy to say they fit just perfectly. The top of the outer sidewall sits hairs within the fender opening and with the camber of our cars I don't see an issue with hard turning. I was worried that I would have to spend a big chunk of change to get another summer set.

An odd thing I've found that I didn't get a warning message regarding the tire pressure sensors (I don't have any on my summer set).

The wheels BTW are 18" BMW M3 CSL replicas which look very nice with the lines of the W204. They look kinda like BBS wheels with a cleaner more modern look -- a very timeless look, IMO.

My car will have a bit of work done to it over the next two weeks so I will definitely have pics posted soon.

There are no TPMS sensors. The new Tire Pressure system relies upon the ESP system to tell you whether or not there is an anomoly.

What do you mean, "new" TP System?

I'm getting the windows tinted, clear bra full front installed, K&N filters, and a bunch of little things done. Nothing major, for now.

The TPS did eventually displayed a warning message and light. After I first put on the wheels I took it for a spin around the block, which didn't show any TPS warnings.
The next day after a couple miles of driving a warning message did display saying it couldn't detect a signal from the TPS, and ever since then the warning light and message did display right away. I'll probably get the sensors when my summer tires are worn (I have about one more season left).

Here are some pics I took today:

The newer cars use software embedded within the ESP system and calculate each wheels rotation to tell you if its flat or not. Its much less complicated than the old, but better TPMS system. The old system gave you individual readouts of the tire and its pressure.
