Trunk lights... LED?

Anyone else think the current lights in the trunk are pretty dim in total darkness?

Maybe an opportunity to add some LED lights?

i thought they were dim too, so i switched them all out with hyperwhite. i avoided the LEDs though just incase i get an error message. they are actually pretty easy to switch out, just wear gloves though because there is no way to turn off the bulb when the trunk is open unless you unplug the car battery

Does that mean that there's no switch? Or that you couldn't find the switch? I'd hope there is one, else that light is on all the time?

Confusing.

what he meant was:
there is no way to turn off the bulb when the trunk is open
the light's on only if you open the trunk

And what I meant was, can we not find the actual switch and use tape or something to hold it closed?

So, I went out to the car and looked. I found the wire bundle (passenger's side hinge) but no switch.

Does this car have something like a mercury switch inside the trunk lid? Let's hope not!

Oh well.

Dear helpless,

The trunk light turns itself off automatically after a short period. Open the lid and come back in ten minutes.

And of course, there is a switch that turns it on.

Was actually thinking of adding some LED lights by tapping of the existing lights and not touching the existing ones.

Better idea would be to put a resistor inline with the LED (assuming the LED doesn't have one built in).

I wouldn't like the idea of having a light bulb on hiddin inside my turnk lid somewhere.
