I loved the W203 coupe... I thought it would be the perfect car for me. So, back when they were putting 4matic in all of the C-class vehicles, I contacted MB headquarters up in montvale to ask if they planned on putting the 4matic in the coupe - because they would certainly have one buyer right here! They responded, "Not at this time as there are dissapointing sales for that body style" - next year - poof, gone.

Figures :P

i don't really like it. I wouldn't trade my c300 for the coupe (personal opinion).

They already brought it here and it didnt do decent...it won't make a return until it becomes a proper coupe body...one without a hatch. Yes it has the w203 interior...because it is a w203 with a w204 front clip and some minor reworking of the rear section. By the way for the users new to this forum, there is a search function at the top right hand corner of the threads. I'm not complaining as I know it doesn't always come back with results, but there are a couple of threads with lots of pictures of this reworked C coupe.

The above user does make an interesting point...a C coupe..in real coupe form (no hatch) and 4matic......sounds like a great idea! Benz isn't too keen on the idea of 4matic in their coupes but I did hear rumors of putting the 4matic in the CL.

1. As chilledbenz said, this car is essentially a w203 that just looks like a w204 from the front. The chassis and other underpinnings are the same as the old model coupes.

2. I didn't like it then, and I don't like it now. Sticking a w204 front on it doesn't do anything for me. In fact, I think the w203 coupes are quite possibly some of the worst looking cars on earth. Not even worth the MB name.

3. Search does work, sometimes, and there are already many threads discussing this car. However, I'm always glad to crap on this car once more.

I find the coupe's (W204 and W203) to be pretty ugly looking as well. I don't know what it is, I think it's the wierrrd looking rear design but it's terrible. Everytime I see a W203 coupe on the road I just can't stand it haha. Why couldn't MB make a nice slick C coupe like BMW did with the 3 series coupe?

Again, in English, please. I have no idea what you've said. I know English is not your first language, but your Turkish nationality does not help me understand poorly written English.

Are you saying that:
1. I must be an owner of a w203 coupe since I say such remarks, or
2. I must first have owned a w203 coupe previously to be qualified to say something like my post above?

In any case, two of my friends have or had w203 coupes while we were in college, so I had several chances to drive them. I gave them so much crap about how crappy these cars looked and drove that eventually one sold his, and the other cut ties with me (briefly).

C coupe (I think best name ) is even better than BMW's ugly 3 coupe

probably you do not know except english language

C coupe = C Saloon as technically both of them are Same. only C coupe less 2 doors . if you like C and Mercedes and enough 2 doors for you it is the best choise (its rival BMW 3 compact and now 1 series , Audi A3 )

I happen to like the C coupé, but this is not true. The C coupé (now called CLC) is actually a 203 chassis. When the W203 was still out, your statement was correct, but now it is a technically far different car. Like I have said in the past, I find the 203 interior to be far superior to the 204 interior, so the pairing with the 204 exterior on a 3-door car makes for a very attractive model, to me.

What I find more confusing than anything else though is why they are not updating the diesel engines, and why there is no 320CDI option.

There currently aren't any rear-drive 2+2 hatchback coupes offered in the US. Not everybody needs or appreciates the practicality and appearance of a hatchback.

The reviews of CLC style are entertaining.

The R32 is pretty close, although you are technically correct since it is AWD, not RWD.

Yes, the R32 is a cool vehicle. To me, the disadvantages are the AWD vs RWD and automatic w/ no manual option.

Exactly! I just looks cheap...kinda like 'I want a MB, but I can't afford one so I have to get this'...lol Also, it looks like a women's car...same category w/ the beetle, miata, del sol, etc...LOL

Sorry, just my opinion...lol

I could be dead wrong but isn't the CLK related close to the old W203 platform? If so wouldn't a true C-XXX coupe be the same size?

The CLK was always based on the C chassis, the 208 to the 202, and the 209 to the 203. The 204 is a newer chassis than the 209, so the CLC should be compared to the CLK. In addition to being the only coupé with a panorama roof, the CLC has no objective shortcomings to the CLK, and is in fact superior in several measurable ways(styling, etc, is of course completely subjective, although I prefer the CLC's 204 exterior).

With the 204 being out, the CLC should be put up against the CLK for comparison, and I have yet to find the CLK's justification for being twice as expensive as a CLC.

Only thing I can think of is its available as a convertible or with v8 power which would make it more expensive. To be accurate the CLK 350 coupe is $10 grand more than a C350, but I still agree with you on it being too expensive for what it is. By the way a new version of the CLK is on its way soon and will be based off the w204 platform.

Never did like the CLK, unless it was heavily modded. But then that kinda defeats the purpose of buying a new car... I would like to see what the new one looks like though.
