Really? I'm a graphics designer and don't see how it would be a BAD photoshop if untrue. Looks pretty damn real to me.

I thought I read that non-US versions aren't speed limited like we are as you are going 161mph which makes us Americans a bit hesitant on being true. Pretty good top speed for a 6 cylinder luxury/sport sedan.

both us and non-US specs have a limiter at 190km
you need to install sw to free the limiter

Btw the needle is not from a W204

UK Models are limited to 250kmh 155 mph de-limiting they should achieve 260kmh

Dosnt look like photo shop to me, Look at the reflection of the needle on to outer dial, I dont think anyone would have thought to put in such small details.

And ya thats fast, I have done that speed on my 97 Ninja ZX7R. And I can tell ya its F---in fast on a bike so its just as fast in a car.

That is not true.

The US version should be limited no lower than 210km/hr, and the European version should have a factory limiter no lower than 250km/hr. Both can be removed, and 260 km/hr should be possible.

sorry about the mis information

the reason why I had 190km was because I was watching a show on
the C63, and during the drive in Germany, they were efforlessly beaten by a 911.
the guy floors it but the limiter did not allow them to exceed 190.

so I guess MB limited their cars for the press?


anyways the needle on my C-Class has a silver outline where as its all red
on the photo

It looks like it's been edited for dramatic effect. Since the needle has a silver outline, the contract between the needle and cluster wouldn't be too great once the cluster was black and whitened.

OK here's what the driver who ride that fast said:

"...Welcome to the German autobahn, the first leg of our cross-Europe trek behind the wheel of the 2008 Mercedes-Benz C-class. Two-lane sections can be tricky, since every driver seems to be talking on a cell phone, but the increasingly common three-lane stretches are perfect playgrounds for mile-eaters like our C-class. Although officially limited to 155 mph, the speedometer reads 163 mph when the limiter finally calls time. At this speed, the C350 is totally unperturbed. Expansion joints? No effect, even when you're really flying. Test-of-courage corners? Easy. Turn the wheel, keep your foot down, and marvel. Clueless slower drivers swerving left without so much as a flash of the turn signal? Don't worry, this car has good brakes. Make that very good brakes..."

Different versions have different needles and IC's. That picture is very real. The cars these guys drove were pre-production models way back when.
