Have you guys read this thread?
https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/244457-scam-alert-fs-oem-mercedes-benz-e63-amg-wheels-tires-package-must-sell-quickly.html
Developing story about the E-class AMG folks are doing their own CSI and the scammer is now refunding the $4400 to the two members who may have lost their money.

I read all of it, and even posted a comment.
Incredible story though. Not the scam--those are dime a dozen these days on the Wild Wild Web--but the coordinated effort by members of this forum as well as of several other forums to catch this guy. No arrest yet, but the crook was scared enough to issue refunds to the two MBWorld members who were sold imaginary E63 wheels. MBWFTW.

the one thing the Internet created is more scammers and people who buy off of them.
I dont buy large items ($1000 or more) unless they are from a dealer and NEVER from eBay. for insurance purposes and the high cost of everything from shipping to taxes.
When I do buy something over $1000 I make sure I do my homework prior to buying to see if the seller/dealer is known for certain errors.
forums like this can be a great source for buying and selling, however I do recommend when buying, to arrange for a meet up or local pick-up. cheaper and safer.
