Count me in for the group buy.
Another question. Is there a wattage limit on the led buld that you can use with this circuit? In fact, what's the wattage of the buld supplied. I was just thinking if we could subsequently change the led bulb for something even brighter, or are we stuck using only the supplied bulbs.

I have to ask supplier for this.
This bulb is 3.5W.
But different brand LED got different own control IC, the compatibility is a big question, I only believe in what I see.

I contacted the seller and he said that if the C300 eyelids run on 5 W then there should be no problem( error messages), but these replacement LED works on the new M3 w/o the need of resistors etc...check out this website: http://www.modbargains.com/product.a...328_335_LED_JS

I've tried using LED bulbs for the eyelid/city lights, they do not trigger an error message, but they stay on all the time, even when the car is off and parked.

For the license plate lights I've installed a 5W 100ohm transistor to the wires which cured everything, no error message, no flickering and goes on when it supposed to. It's only costed me a buck each. Much cheaper than $50 for that 'magic box'. The LED wedge bulbs I got from Hoen, but you could find decent LED 194 wedge bulbs for about $3 on eBay.

Factory LED eyelids

FWIW, here in Japan, the dealer offered the option of LED eyelids. The MB part number is M 000 580 00 10 MM. The description stated that it includes a 'warning canceler'. I'm guessing that's what the little chips are in the photo. The price is just under 16,000 yen (about US$150). I have no idea if they're available anywhere else. Might be worth asking about.

Here they are at night. Kinda crappy, sorry. It was raining.

My next step is to find fogs that'll match...

This would be the best way to replace the original bulb...
Could you get more info about this MB product, probably this is not possible to find in USA or Europe markets

Well i called my local parts dept. and they cant recognize that part number at all. So heres my next question:

from looking at these two pictures they seem to look alike:

vs.

By looking in these angles, one looks round and the other looks a bit flatter? whkento, will a normal 194 wedge bulb work in your socket?

Well, I don't really know. That's the short answer. (I'd never seen the other type until looking at your pic.)

A bit more involved is that on the sheet which lists the available options, their cost, and time to install, it listed something like .2 hours to do the install ( I don't have the sheet with me now). Judging from this, I'm guessing they fit the standard bulb fitting. I will do more research, but it will probably take a few days. Due to serious communication issues (my Japanese is, uh, not that great), I will have to actually drive over to the dealer and use my usual part Japanese, part English, part sign language method of communication to get answers. Please be patient.

Obviously, at this time I'm not gonna make any promises re. purchasing them.

I'll be back in touch when I can...

Look at this http://page6.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f57131902

But still expensive, around $85 for a pair, and you need two pairs so total $170

This LED bulb claims to has a built-in electron resistor, not sure if this will work without error.

So LED cost alone to replace all of the 194's would be around 290.00 USD from this source (without shipping). Polarg M2's will be around 75.00 USD (with Shipping) and won't be much different. Give me the Polargs.

Did anybody else notice that the 'chips' (resistors maybe?) on those bulbs are the same as on the ones I have? Look at the pics... It looks like the exact same item, just with the manufacturer's name (Brex) on it. Very interesting... Also, the price is just barely higher than what I paid at the dealer. (Maybe I oughta start my own little export business...)

And a quick question--do you guys get that auction page in English or Japanese? (Mine's in Japanese, with pricing in Yen.)
