Countdown to another mercedes follower posting that its a feature of the design instead of an over-sight or limitation: 10 ... 9 .... 8 ..... 7 ....

Suggestion:

Once on Sirius - just push the little talky microphone button to activate voice control and just say the station name... like "The Beat" or "Hits 1"

It _should_ work.... but maybe I'm wrong.

It is - but only in vehicles equipped with the multimedia package... silly me forgot to mention that.

The answer may be in your sarcasm. Maybe it's so that the number buttons (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0) can be used to tune the radio?

Or maybe its just a really poor design ... but since Mercedes did it, it must be right. How silly for me to question their superior wisdom. Because I couldn't just use that nice 'presets' menu on the screen interface to scroll through > 9 presets?

... the same wisdom that decided the mirror shouldn't tilt when the car is put in reverse like every other car on the market, and the wisdom that decided north american's didn't need seat memory; i could go on for days ...
